    I really hope we get a psykio core! Anyone working on this?

    Will the MISTer ever be able to silent boot directly to a game when powering on, but not have any boot up text before the game loads?
    Or is that just not something the MISTer will ever do, and would require a totally different FPGA device?

    • @beefquiche
      @beefquiche 3 місяці тому

      I think that's already an option

    • @itchyisvegeta
      @itchyisvegeta 3 місяці тому

      @@beefquiche From what I heard, the direct booting to a game is an option. But getting rid of the MISTer's boot up text before the game is not.
      If that has changed, I'd love to see a vid or confirmation, cause I'll jump on the MISTer in a second if true.

      @@itchyisvegeta which cores are you referring to as I rarely see any MiSTer boot text, eg there is zero in console cores.

      @@beefquiche Arcade games. I don't know enough about the MISTer yet to say what cores specifically or the details.
      Basically what I'm wanting to do is place a MISTer in an arcade cabinet and have it boot up directly to a game and look exactly like that JAMMA game board powering on.
      Currently doing that with my Pi 3 and Pi 4.

      @@itchyisvegeta don't those arcade games also have splash screens when they're booted on original hardware in a cab?

    I don't want an illegal bootleg of a Terasic board. I hope that the customs in the US will take care of it as soon as it gets shipped

    • @kunka592
      @kunka592 3 місяці тому +2

      Which part is illegal? Clearly you know more than the guy making and selling them.

      @@kunka592 then we would let him pay extra for a Terasic board 🤷

      It's not an illegal bootleg

    • @LusRetroSource
      @LusRetroSource  3 місяці тому +1

      From what I know Terasic is using an Intel reference design meant for development. So anyone can make a device from that reference design.

    • @beefquiche
      @beefquiche 3 місяці тому

      @@LusRetroSource and none of the chips are bespoke, they're all "off the shelf" parts, and they're arranged on the board in a standard manner.
      I very much doubt Terasic have any ironclad IP rights on their DE10n board layout, and even if they did it would only require that a small number of tweeks be made.
