I purchased the Note Air 3C because I own a number of eBooks and graphic novels/manga which I wanted to read on a screen that wouldn't wear my eyes out. The fact that I can also use the Libby and Hoopla apps on this device means I can also access library books, audiobooks, and comics on here as well. The notes section and stylus makes the Note Air 3C my bullet journal. Basically, this device has become my reading and writing device, while my iPad mini is my go to for audio/video consumption.

That’s my plan too, device is on the way… one month in, how is it working out?

Just a correction. The 300dpi doesn't mean how much the screen is refreshing. It is dots per inch(dpi) ie how much "pixels" there are in an inch.

Wonderfully reviewed - highlighting the key aspects of the tablet. For instance, I couldn't find the Calendar Memo app reference, elsewhere in any of the other reviews of this device on UA-cam. Thank you Kayla !

Nice video, just a little note on what you said about the display. DPI stands for "Dots Per Inch", and is a measure of resolution and not of refresh rate!

I bought this in March and have been using it everyday since. I never run out of battery but I charge it more than say my Nintendo switch. It gets more use. I love how big the screen is.
I imported a lot of templates I made in canva to customize a bullet journal, reading journal, medical journal, sketchbook, different color background dot grids, daily journal, ect.
I read and listen to audiobooks on my note air 3c and constantly use the notes app. The only other app I basically ever use is Libby.
It's made reading and having a reading journal a breeze.
I've even made png files of torn up scrapbook paper, washi tape, and stickers, as well as found free stickers online to use for decorating all my journals.
It's amazing I won't be going back to paper.

I'll add I often read comics, graphic novels and manga, but have found the color works great for magazines from the Libby app and I have several art tutorial books and non fiction books that have a ton of color in them it's great to finally be able to see.

Hey. Just some info dpi isn’t the refresh rate. It’s the dots per inch on the display. So it’s the density of pixels. Thanks so much for the great video. Im looking forward to reading my manga on it

I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing the note taking experience. Other videos I have watched doodle on the screen and talk about battery life so it was nice seeing notes and a calendar since that is what I will mainly use mine for. I purchased a RM2 and like a lot of aspects but the color and front light on the note air c really got me. I like the non-vibrant colors and the ability to use apps. I wish it had as many templates as the RM2 but I can obviously download or make custom ones. The ghosting is a bit bothersome but not enough for me to give up a color e-ink tablet.

the marker looks like its crossing the handwriting out - it doesnt look like a highlighter. I am an e- ink note taking fan. I have the boox tab mini c, boox TUC pro, SN A5x, Remarkable 2 and the Kindle Scribe. I am an avid reader, a professional (9 hours plus on the computer) and Uni (another bunch of hours on the computer) I also have the M1 Ipad pro and the ipad mini 6. My high school student aged daughter prefers the RM2. I use the SN A5x for work and the boox devices for academia.
I enjoyed this review - you have a balanced perspective. I also liked the fact that you pointed out the lag on third party apps.

Really great and informative review. And thanks for calling out the Bible app! I have a lot of Bible translations and theological books on Logos Bible Software and I would love to read those on an e-ink screen instead of my phone or computer. That, plus the Readwise Reader app would be my main use cases for this, I think. Great job 👍🏼

Does the note air feel too big and heavy to replace a pocket ereader like the kindle paperwhite? I am on the fence about whether i want this size or something a bit smaller. Thanks?

I replaced my Kindle Oasis and Kobo Libra with the Note Air 3 last week. And I really like the bigger screen.

Very good, seriously prepared and balanced video. I think, though, that you should mention the one major inconvenience of this very good performance : the battery autonomy suffers and is a lot shorter than usual E-ink readers by a ratio of one to ten (I own this device today and owned Boox Note Air 1 monochrome before)

I enjoyed your concise review, but I do wish the notebook part was more detailed..
For instance you mentioned that this device would replace a bunch of notebooks - which is probably the main use case I would buy this for.
In practise, can you write in the same font size on this device as you would on a paper notebook? Is it really the same look and feel?
And how do you manage the notebooks - like for instance can they just keep growing in size or do you have a practical limitation ? And if you do, can you have sequential notebooks per topic?
What is the file format the device uses for the notebooks and can they be read using Word on my PC too?
Can I easily backup my notebooks to ensure I do not lose anything?
Not sure I was clear enough but I really need to understand how this will replace my paper notebooks in a seamless manner. Thanks.

It is a personal matter, if you want the light and perfect size for everywhere go for tab mini if you want bigger and better go for 3c both are good

The light you use simply doesn’t correspond to the truth. The screen even with the backlight on and a strong direct light isn’t that white! Even the Air 3 (B&W) isn’t that white, that is very misleading and makes people think on buying that model as it would be that good. It’s far from that… you should pay attention to that, even if you use filters for your video, when displaying the device you’re presenting, it should be as faithful to the reality as possible.

Actually my device this device doesn't have any issues when comparing it to the original Kobo h20 which does have a whiter screen but will never look like a kindle Paperwhite. These devices reflect the look of newsprint best. It's like reading a newspaper. I've even been able to use mine as a sketchbook and the images look very good and when you transfer them to like a phone or computer the background is true to color white and the colors are very vibrant.
