Hey David!! Thanks for the shout out! I literally JUST found it today!! I am so bummed we missed meeting you at the life raft event in SXM! Anyway, very cool to be tagged, so THANK YOU!!!
Buddy! Awesome videos!! Really enjoying them. But please! Please keep clear of the boom! It's called a boom, cause it goes boom when it hits you!! Keep sailing, stay safe, and keep the videos rolling👍⛵🌍
Votre français est adorable 😂 i get so excited when I see one of your videos is ready and then so sad when it’s over!!! Bravo they are all entertaining and fun + informative too!!! Amazing job -bon travail!!
Hi David, good to see youse are having fun in the middle of the ocean in the middle of nowhere. Good to see you and you guys are keeping on track and doing what you have to do. Give up the good work. Love your Videos Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺🧑🏾🦽
Haha great vlog again David. The tempo..the humor..the hair😅 how are your feet? Auww!!..But you probably already know😊 the old life raft failed miserably to deploy and inflate when your nemesis Katie and new crewmember Zoe did their 24/48h life raft survival test in last vlog of El Capitano Colin😅 Luckely he ordered and installed a new one. Curious how that would be..you 8 in a life raft..you wanna sleep and having the same underware for xxx days.😮😅😂🎉 (you understand just teasing you). Luckely there was no need for that..but always prepared!! as fellow German sailor Martin from M Jambo his ship sank suddenly when hitting a container probably in the middle of the South Atlantic. Luckily he was well prepared and a freigther was 20 hours nearbye. He told about it in his last vlog last week. Bravely forward and sail with todays wind..or at least try..au revoir🎉
can't imagine being in a small liferaft with 8 people, but definitely better than nothing if it came down to it. i suspect jamie would catch us some decent eating though!
Great video David! One question though, when you said you only got 4 hours sleep you meant in the 6 hours between shifts right? Sorry man had to add that for Jamie. Lol
Excellent question : what do you call sleeves for your pants. Well, in the languages of the former Yugoslavia, we HAVE a word, based on the word leg. Kind of if for arms it is armEES, then for the leg it is legEES. Just invention, but makes you get it.
Shihlatte let’s hopes that Poseidon or Neptune is on your side if this ever happens as this would be devastating for the you, your family and of course the Lagoon 450. Take care buddy, hopefully you’re progressing to a point where we can be able to enjoy your fast approaching Sailing Adventures. Did you get an invite the NZ Auckland family extravaganza at Colin’s place 🎉🎉
Maybe my math is wrong, but 30 liters is less than four liters per person, which might last a day or two. With all the satellite/comms gear that’s probably ok, but…shouldn’t there be a bit more of a cushion for weird scenarios where you’re floating in the rafts for a week?
no you're right! we actually had a couple of those jugs filled up out there. but still, i really would fell more comfortable having more water. its supposed to rain every day out there, but on this passage we didn't see rain for 10 days....
Don't leave the boat, because the chance of sinking both hulls is almost imposiable. Hitting a reef or capsizing is more likely to happen. The weight of the engines and generator will sink your boat. Large air bags in the engine areas would be better than a life raft.
yeah that's kinda true! only reason we'd leave is bc of fire...and if it's literally about to go down you don't want to be so close you get sucked under. ive thought of keeping airbags aboard, but filling them up is the problem...im guessing that would need a huge gas air compressor with massive volume
I read once about a family of sailors who would put their dirty clothes in a 5-gallon bucket with seawater and laundry soap, snap the lid on the bucket, and tie it overboard for about an hour... INSTANT free washing machine. Just make sure the rope and bucket are all up for the job. 🙂
@@mary_shih maybe..but its useful especially with family etc. Safer drying and so on. But feet gets use to being wet..being barefooted for a while will develop callous which harden feet soles etc...i never had a wm..just callous feet..walked on pahoe lava barefooted many years even my kids..island living...its beautiful, lots of learning..bests regards to your family.
we will soon! just a few more episodes and we're back to our boat! i needed to get as much experience as possible before i start sailing my family around
yes, it was so weird. i mean it was still salty, but didn't feel weird in my mouth like normal salt water does. maybe its just because its so clean out there.
awww...didnt mean it like that! didn't think she was hurt, just got the wind knocked out of her. also, i always saw it as a lesson because she tried to cheat at the end after they were supposed to stop. anyways, just a classic clip that that i remember watching as a kid.

Yer so darn cheery I even sat through the commercial instead of skipping ahead. ;)
David, @9:45 put your feet in a couple of containers of rice. Once your feet are dry you can just pilaf the dead skin. ;) Just some food for thought.
hahahah smart and gross all at the same time! will try in next time bro!

You have a way of giving an amazing narrative. Love the channel!
Groovy episode. Well done David, well done indeed.
Your mic setup is 🔥🔥🔥. Loving the blue tape, I think that is the technical term for your mounting bracket 😂. Seriously, love your content!
hahahah yeah man, it kept rubbing the shirt so i just went straight for the skin.

Always love the energy you bring to your videos Dave! Great content! You explain things on terms, we can understand. THank you!

👍✅🏝🤣 Another interesting and fun video Dave, tks!
you got it bro!
Great video David! One question though, when you said you only got 4 hours sleep you meant in the 6 hours between shifts right? Sorry man had to add that for Jamie. Lol
bahahahah! touche! i only took 3x 2 hour naps that day... in 6 hrs.

Kia ora Dave, another great video, but those feet ! zombie bait.
oh man....they were bad werent they!?!?! that's never happned before. wonder what it was?
There are some huge sea creatures living in that ocean at those depths i dont think i would like be towed like fish lure mid ocean
Enjoy your videos
thx tam!!!
I think a good coat of petroleum jelly would seal out moisture and then a pair of socks?
Man! I always do petroleum jelly and socks when my feet are too dry! Never guessed it would work the opposite too!

Hey Dave, so how long did it take for ya feet to come good?
it took a good day or so of staying completely dry and then back to normal. though they were still a bit numb at points.
Hope you tied the smaller dinghy on before tossing it over board
ooh good point... especially in bad weather

that's a good idea! tumble cycle! i'll try it!
@@david_shih I believe it was S V Exit Only.
Had Mary been aboard she would have made you not get trench foot. Hilarious.
That was the most disgusting thing he’s ever shown me!!!
@@mary_shih See? He needs you and the kids to protect him from himself.

Très bon épisode mon ami ! j'ai déjà hâte de voir la suite des choses !! #babbel Tell me when you go somewhere you need a french friend !
oh yeah you speak french! wait how was my french?! 50% 60% there?
@@david_shih words was good but need to relax your mouth lol 😆
David, you have inspired me to walk around top less with just a mike taped to my chest! Jk. Thats funny. Heidi 😅
That’s awesome!!! Guess which v neck I’m wearing today. So soooooft.
OMG Heidi!!! Too funny! Spit out my water!
👍
Bro, we need to sit down and have a beer. Make it happen.
Lessons learned so far? Shoes?
We usually never wear shoes on the boat. It’s so gross! Maybe we’ll reconsider wearing shoes when it’s raining???
They are called survival brain feet😅
Survival brain feet?? Man it hurt!
Soooo gross!!!!
@@mary_shih yep, terrible to watch...but it happens, when you are at sea and no washing machine but your feet..
@@rnunezc.4575 So what you're saying is we need to get a washing machine??? 😃

So there was no one on the boat while you were all swiming?😳
Stephen was on the boat!
I know you made it, but keep your bonce down in a swell, you freak me out @ 1.00 minute in!
Why are you not sailing your boat
we will soon! just a few more episodes and we're back to our boat! i needed to get as much experience as possible before i start sailing my family around

yes, it was so weird. i mean it was still salty, but didn't feel weird in my mouth like normal salt water does. maybe its just because its so clean out there.
Hello world
Oh so this is a premier that started three hour's ago gotcha.
Oh I posted it unlisted for patreons because I didn’t get it to them last night. But when I made it live to the public we premiered it.
Babbel needs to add thai
Thanks! Well give them the feedback!
Take care of your feet. Maybe wear deck shoes?
Pant legs
How can you call it hilarious when she is clearly dying out of pain?

First! Lol
hahah hey ang! btw i was the 1st on a casey neistat video once!!
It's going to be embarrassing when you all get in the life raft and somebody has to take a poop.
