Thanks. I got ninja dog rankings on the regular. I die more often practicing, but now I'm not panic jumping on enemies heads and trying to DMC my way through the game. Your videos make it easier to not get frustrated trying to get a better understanding of what you could do better. When I do finally make it through a mission I usually get master now. I beat this game before on normal, but I knew I didn't stand a chance on a higher difficulty
I didn't comment yet. These videos are extremely informative and helpful, and this game truly warrants an examination of each weapon. I look forward to the rest.
Love these vids man. I bought an xbox one x to replay the masterpiece that is NGB and binged all the way from normal to now about halfway through Master Ninja.
Thanks. I feel like I've opened a huge can of worms but I'm really enjoying having stuff to do in NGB again. I'm so happy about the nunchuks and flails guide as I can finally show off the really cheap stuff with them lol
Hey joe, I love watching your videos. Can you give me some tips for defeating murai quickly, because I did the worst speedrun for ngb in my channel and I am trying to learn from you.
I watched the Murai fight and you have the windmill slash down well enough but you're being too aggressive for Murai. You need to get him to do his front flip by rolling away from him when you're close. This guarantees >XY into OL Y with DS which is the best combo for him. I noticed you attack when Murai holds his nunchuku horizontally infront of him too, this is his parry stance so if you do XY and you see him do that don't do an air attack. Instead just land normally and wait for Murai to lower the chucks, then you can attack him again. Good luck man! Always good to see people getting into runs for this game.
I've already beaten Very Hard, but I'm still struggling with the Great Bridge and the Stadium challenges. Those Vigoorian Berserkers are really giving me trouble. How good is the Lunar at breaking their guard?
The Lunar isn't very good for Berserkers. XYYY isn't bad but once they go into rage they will parry this string all day. The heavy weapons >Y attack is the best thing to deal with berserkers or ripping thunder (>YYY) with the Flails.
Thanks. I guess I'm going to have to learn how to properly aim the >Y after roll-dodging the Berserker attacks. I hate how the parry from the Berserkers is so random sometimes. Sometimes they constantly parry, sometimes they never even get one parry in.
0JoeButton0 alrighty. I found Reim’s old videos again. He’s the reason I found enjoyment in beating NG2 MN, so that’ll do until I can be arsed to read reddit and text info. Thanks again for these tutorials
wish there were more people doing these types of videos for this great game. Which version of Ninja gaiden do you prefer? mine is Black for sure, could be nostalgia since i played it on the original Xbox as a kid. Sigma Technically looks better, besides the water, has a cool, but redundant new weapon, but the reduced difficulty To sell, not to make a better game, rubbed me the wrong way
Black is hands down the best in my eyes. It has the best balance of any NG game yet is still challenging even after you know every aspect about the game. It's one of the few games that even after year of play can still can get the better of you if you're careless. I think Sigma is great and only just below Black but there's a couple of really small changes that bug me like the altered roll animation properties and enemy tactics. It's still a must have for any PS3 owner though I think, just hard to top Black.
Thanks, it's tough to pick just two but it's impossible to not have fun with the TDS or the Flails, tons of combo potential, compliment projectiles very well and both are versatile.
0JoeButton0 nice. Also, do you think we’ll ever get Ninja Gaiden 4 anytime soon? With all these hack and slashing games coming out or came out (god of war, DMC5, Bayonetta3, Sekiro) really makes me hope there’s going to be a 4th. NG is my all time favorite hack and slash game
I am uploading a video now where I just talk about the likelihood of NG4 and the current state of action games so your timing is spot on :) I think NG4 is coming sooner or later, I go into more detail in the video for surely someone at Team Ninja has been taking notes of the recent change and is going to realise they still own NG and do something with it.
It will depend on the difficulty you play on, on Normal it's just before the Murumasa shop in chapter 2, on Hard you get it just before the trap door fight in chapter 1 and on Very Hard and Master Ninja you'll start with it.
This isn't a fighting game so like literally half the information you give in these videos isn't really relevant to a normal run of the game. I haven't played but due to my experience with games similar to this one, it just isn't important to know all this unless you're some speedrunner or just wanting to pretend like you're a pro against ai that dies in 2 seconds.
@@Sadeness99 I would strongly recommend you start with this one or NG2 unless you're talking about NG3RE? Vanilla NG3 is definitely the weakest of the bunch but RE is considered the one to play when it comes to NG3 iterations. As far as I know though the MP wasn't shut down but you might have trouble finding people for matches. Some members of my discord do still play though, NG3RE that is so you might find some people there.
@@Sadeness99 Not at all, this series is intended more for people who are looking to get to know the game on a more detailed level but if a new player finds at least one thing that helps them in the game then it's all good.
After the weapon series is done, i think a boss guide would be extremely entertaining to watch!!
Hell yeah, this is the one I was waiting for most. I suck at lunar but I know it can be incredibly effective.

0JoeButton0 Are you gonna do those two both in the same video since they are so similar?
Yep, chucks and flails will be there own video. I'll be doing Warhammer, Dabi and DDB as one too as they share so many moves and properties.
0JoeButton0 That sounds awesome man great plan looking forward to seeing them
Such an old but fun game.. the nostalgia is real
One of my favourite weapon in the game.
Love these tutorial vids. Looking forward to the tutorial vid for the heavy weapons.

0JoeButton0 thank you so much !! i am honored that you've watched my video ;)
I never knew ryu had an outfit to look like shinobi on ps2 but its incredibly cool
I always found enemies interrupted many of the lunar’s fancier attacks. XXY was good though.
It should be noted that it cannot break walls in Sigma. Are you sure it can break all walls in Black?
The level 3 lunar can break walls in black but only at level 3.
Man thanks for the tutorial its 2020 do you break down ninja gaiden 2(original).....?l

Great video
Do you know someone to watch for tips and info on the sequels of this game?
I’m looking to play this whole series again eventually
I don't unfortunately, there are some runs out there for NG2 and 3 but in terms of in depth breakdowns I'm not sure.

How are you moving the camera? Is that only on Xbox one x? I have the one s.
You can control the camera by clicking in the right stick. This will toggle between the default camera and the controllable camera.
0JoeButton0 thanks

"altered roll animation properties and enemy tactics"
Could you elaborate on that, please? I only played Sigma.
This is 2 years too late but Sigma is literally harder than Black overall so i can tell you did not even play the game.
Which are your two favorite melee weapons to use in Black?
Awesome video btw!

This is a question you could have answered on your own very easily, instead of hassling somebody who's trying to produce specific quality resources.
tldr; Hit enemies with a stick :p
...but without getting hit yourself* lol
