2:55 shouldn't have been allowed. Law 8.20: "If the team indicates to the referee the intention to kick at goal, they must kick at goal. The intention to kick can be communicated to the referee or signalled by the arrival of the kicking tee or sand, or when the player makes a mark on the ground."
I think they did have to clarify years ago that when you opt for a kick at goal, it has to be a genuine attempt. Can't remember the context but it was about a team opting for a kick to wind down the clock.
@@barryoffeastenders There's no need to conclusively prove anything, the referee makes decisions based on their own judgement and common sense. And even if you somehow accept that a professional kicker can accidently kick towards the corner flag from directly in front, the fact that the winger clearly knew where the ball was going makes it obvious it was deliberate.
3:16 to 3:18 definitely one way to end a match. As for 4:01 to 4:24 I remember when that happened here in Ireland and we got a good laugh out of it as Connacht’s home ground the Sportsground in Galway city faces onto the Atlantic ocean so winter can be interesting there.
Not just getting the ball into the commentary box, but then the guy throwing the ball _out_ of the commentary box and decking a player on the head, was absolutely hilarious.
Ah yes, the Canterbury nor-wester in the Mid-Canterbury/North Otago match. That kick-off is legendary! The Ashburton Domain is a great place to watch rugby when the wind isn't blowing.
So how was play resolved? Shouldn't it be a 5m scrum? Even if the ball didn't go 10m forward, the scrum by their goal line would be more of an advantage. Or is there some exception for kickoffs?
Since rugby has been played for a thousand years, in each of the worlds thousand countries, in every day of the thousand-day year, in a thousand matches each, I would expect one of these things to happen. But all of them. Wow.
Well even one in a million is wrong 😂 It would take you 12 days to count to one million non stop without sleep and amazingly 37 years to count at the same speed to one billion. Even one trillion is mind boggling 👍
The Ball in the jersey should have been reversed, the jackler never showed a clear release as he looked to assist in the tackle. But funny with the jersey.
2:36 - I feel bad for that kid, they could be on a proper rugby pitch but clearly someone has adapted a football stadium and put a much shorter try area - if hes in the pocket he makes that clearance
I don't know the history of this ground but it's Saracens' stadium, never heard of any football played there. It's not the only short try area in a rugby club's stadium though.
@@nikolakozhuharov1042 what? are you for real? how did that happen? so many rules in union how isnt there a rule for how long the try area is? Scoring a try then going and sitting in the stands and applauding yourself is epic!

Yeah should've been disallowed
I guess it can be interpreted as a bad miss to bend the rules slightly.
I guess there’s no way to conclusively prove that it wasn’t just a genuine attempt at goal that went wrong 🤷♂️

The quadruple doink off of the posts and crossbar for the conversion was epic!!!!
Fantastic use of the word doink..
That last effort in the stands was quality.
Quality content, as always mate - thank you 👊 some proper bangers there 🤣

I've never seen an own goal in rugby until today. LOL
I was at the Bararians v Samoa match at the Olympic Stadium. The water sprinklers going on was the most entertaining part of the game.

I can't help but feel that all of these were only one in a billion moments and not a trillion. Very misleading.
Since rugby has been played for a thousand years, in each of the worlds thousand countries, in every day of the thousand-day year, in a thousand matches each, I would expect one of these things to happen.

I think the conversion that hit the posts FOUR times before going over is a genuine one in a trillion moment !

The ref at 0.30 😂😂😂
That was hilarious.

Whats going on in the second scene where the ref scores the try?
Its not thing anymore but back then the ref could stand in for an injured player if no substitute was available
2:36 pretty sure I was watching this game in yr9 when I was at oratory
Some subtitles with a bit of explanation would make this far better
I was so confused when Leighs Halfpenny missed that kick

No try

That one where he chips it up for his own player, he's offside so not really a good thing 😂

Great video
One in a trillion moments... seen most of them playing high school rugby. Lmao.
4:09 What was the decision made?
It counts. The ball just has to pass the plane surface in the direction from the field.
Heading the ball forward is that not knock on
Without doing anything so mundane as consulting the rules, I think that anything not involving the arms counts as a kick.
Joe Marler did it and it resulted in a try during RWC.
Hand or arm.
Yep chick rugby tough as when you pull a hammy running onto the field.
7:02 does anyone know what teams this was
Looks like Ulster schools RBAI and Campbell.
gut gut
A full penny would have got the ball between the sticks.😂
