Bought my first Sako in 82 at the Heidelberg Rod and Gun club while stationed in Germany. That one was a 7mm Finnbear. That one shoots a one hole 3 shot group all day long. It's been a long running love affair since. I had to get one of these in 6.5..and I did. What a beauty. Couldn't be happier. Just as accurate as my first. I appreciate fine workmanship and so now when I am sitting under my favorite tree in the north woods of Michigan waiting for a deer and I glance down at this beauty it takes me back in time and puts a smile on my face.
I have a 243 sako that my dad bought during the Korean war when he served ,absolutely beautiful this video makes me smile and reminds me of mine and my departed dad ,thank you .
Growing up my stepdad Larry got me into hunting deer and elk. He was from Colorado and he had hunted his whole life with great success. Most of his life he used one rifle for everything, it was and still is a Sako 243 forester!!! He has shot and taken Colorado elk, Oregon elk, Colorado mule deer, Arizona mule deer, Colorado Bear, many coyotes and other wildlife with this rifle. Most of the time in fact probably almost 99.9% of the time it was one shot for all of these species of wildlife. The gun is simply the most well-built, smooth and accurate gun I have ever had my hands on. I have compared it to many other rifles in my time that I have shot and handled and nothing even comes close to the action of this gun and Sako rifles in general. It is deadly accurate, reliable and I’m confident that it can take any animal on this planet with this caliber. I don’t remember what it cost him back in the day but it was not cheap. It is made of the finest quality materials for that time. And has held up all these years, and the best part is he still uses it. I would pick this gun over any rifle in the world that would be offered to me. If I remember right they started making these rifles to compete with the Winchester model 70 that was extremely popular back then and owned the market. They’ve gone through some changes over the years but they are still incredible rifles and I believe they’re starting to get even better again. I have a finnlight 2, in 6.5 x 55 Swede and it is simply an amazing caliber. It has almost no recoil but the results are incredible. Very smooth shooter, very reliable and lightweight. My advice is if you can pick a rifle and only one rifle to last your lifetime that would do it all and never fail you I would go with a Sako

I have so wanted one of these. In my favorite caliber even. They have come an long way since my Finnbear full stock was made. It had two pieces of wood with a barrel band to hide the joint. I had it restocked in Germany when I lived there and had it made one piece.
I couldn't get a SAKO 75 or 85 Bavarian, so I got me a CZ 550 FS in . 308
What a sweet shooting rifle. Half the recoil of a H&K G3 and much less than the AR-10.
And best of all, under 1" five shot groups at 100 yards from a cold barrel. So I sold my SAKO 75 Stainless.
I walked into my local gun store and saw a 85 Bavarian full stock in 308 on the wall loved it had to have it ended up purchasing it
I just went back and watched that comparison video $400 vs $2000 gun a Ruger and the Sako. If you only had one rifle to buy, save your money and buy the Sako. Quality counts. I remember when you bought that one!
That is an utterly gorgeous tool.
Bless you my friend, you are the best channel on this platform
Well...Greetings from Bavaria as well!
I live a few kilometers from Sako headquarters where their rifles are manufactured, my brother worked for them for 8 years :) I've watched Hickok shoot guns for some 8 years now and I haven't seen him shoot Sako before. Good stuff
You've missed some videos, it appears.
@@hickok45 Well it seems I have indeed :) I'll save them for a rainy day
Just bought a mint condition model 75 in 6.5 x 55 - love it!
Love the wood grain on this rifle. Yup...life IS good!
Life is good! Gorgeous firearm, thanks for sharing. I like that round also.
Beautiful quality rifle plus a great cartridge, you can't beat that...
So satisfying to see the hit right into the bullseye!
