- The Eagle Dance is performed by Gary Wis-Ki-Ge-Amatyuk Jr. and his family comes from the Prairie Band Indian reservation in Kansas. The singer is Scott With Horn who is a Lakota Sioux and his family comes from the Crow Creek Reservation in Fort Thompson, South Dakota. The song is actually a Jemez Pueblo song.

This is a beautiful dance and the feathers, like wings, are breathtaking...the way he moves, so similar to a gliding eagle.
This is at knotts berry farm, in California. However this eagle dance is only performed by one person. Prior to the demonstration the tribe describes The location of the tribe, and what this cuurent nation has been through. Along the meaning. Both perfomers encourage pictures and video!
I recently had a dream of an man with eagle wings dancing he had a breast plate with the sun on it and he was in complete darkness channeling an ancient spirit when his feet would hit the ground a light would ripple out by the end of the dance he had become the sun. i told my friend about it and he sent me this video... wow. i started crying. No idea why i am dreaming of and seeing eagle spirits or why this brought me to tears... but thank you for sharing this is somehow something my spirit needed
This is a beautiful dance. I have loved the American native since I was a young child. The most amazing culture. As a white woman from Cymru( Wales) UK, we had to fight to keep our culture, as the English tried to eradicate it. By banning our language from education, jobs so we wouldn’t progress, even our Welsh signs. They moved into our homelands and even dissevered us from intercourse so we also couldn’t progress. We finally won our battle and rights in 1992. I am proud to be Celtic as I would tell any English person. I do not say this to try and compare to what happened to your ancestors as it was fiercely brutal , but do understand that side of it. I have nothing but total respect for your culture. Hope you don’t mind me sharing this with you. Diolch yn iawn am ranu eich diwylliant glad fi(Thank you very much for sharing your culture with me) Respect from Cymru ( Wales) 🙏
.......singer performing the song but the beautiful melody he created remains. The song is NOT a traditional tribal Jemez song, it is a song created by a talented traditional Jemez singer who created it himself. The video is from 1996 . The dancer & singer performing had performed with many well known native performers. The song was handed down to them from a well known talented 4/4Navajo family known as the Hales that learned the song from the original song maker when traveling together.
Thats my favorite eagle dance ever godbless you forever I hope to learn this someday I love these people forever my grandpa was native and my dads grandma.
I can tell this song is from the Jemez pueblo because I have been to the reservation so many times its in New Mexico by the way
beatiful & majestic...
The song was created by a native Jemez man named Valintino who traveled with Southern Plains natives in the 60s & 70s dancing all over the states. He created this song himself intermixing his own song with Plains style movements creating a intertribal eagle dance song. This song through the 70s 80s & 90s had become a universal song used in native shows by dancers & singers who knew & know what they are doing & the history behind it. The song may sound slightly different from singer to .......
It looks like he is actually flying. His dancing is beautiful
MAY U AND ALL THE OTHER TRIBES LIVE ON U ARE THE TRUE AMERICANS
Not always my favourite kind of music, but the dance was fantastic and it's really fascinating to see such a great culture hasn't been wiped out.
Shame our western greed had to destroy such beautifull cultures...
Ike Matthys yes the greed of man has done much evil but these cultures are not dead.

Beautiful.
I like EAGLE Dancers I wished I could have been there UP CLOSE & PERSONAL, My brother used to do this dance long ago? Deb.
Woah! Sick outfit! Love the sound too!
Is the instrument he plays at 0:20 supposed to be an eagle noise?
It's a flute.
It's great to see an authentic version than some of those over choreographed dances in productions. This is exciting and chilling and has strength.
I thank you for this its a real blessing
this is awesome.
Beautiful song and dance. A'ho

They should bring the eagle dance back.
Beautifull
Peace ✌
So, its a potawatomi dancer, a sioux singer, and a pueblo song... where did they get the permission to use this song?
Beautiful ❤️
This look's like a real good time in the makeing! I would like to dance like this, someday.LOL.
Yes! I love it!!!
Pretty nice to dance
well in my theory all is from same place on world, look at aztec pyramids then on egyptian,
VikingFromHalland You are correct: all the world saw the same things in the sky
However were viewed from different perspectives so the archetype changes somewhat around the globe.
dodddo any of these people get it?? other than a simple display?? sad ! it saddens me I understand us and a need to tell our story but these people don't care they're just taking pictures and not getting the whole picture!
I hate to break that it to you, but this is a tourist attraction. Why not treat it that way?

rebecca rodriguez ya what that other person said is true. This is taking place at an amusement park. Some people value it more than others. But I think exposure to Native American culture is important. I live right by this place and have always had a lot of respect for the culture and I get where you’re coming from. Not everyone is going to feel the same but I still think it’s good to educate people about the culture.
Ahh I really miss watching the Powwows.
Like a Turkish Efe dance and like a Tuva Turks eagle wrestling dance
