Tackling electrical issues. Door panel may be causing reduced engine power error. Temporarily fixed now, and hasn’t shown in some time.
Make sure your C5 Corvettes issues are fixed asap 🙌

I had this exact problem in my 1999 C5. Open the passenger side door. Near the top hinge there is a rubber accordion that protects the wires which control power windows, door locks and mirrors. The issue is a bad connection within a 6-wire connector that you’ll find inside that rubber accordion. You can find detailed instructions on how to fix it on any of the Corvette forums. That bad connection is also triggering the error messages, and once the connection is fixed, everything will return to normal… Good Luck!

I did play around with that and everything has been fine for some time. I’ll need to see if I have to fully replace it somehow down the line.

The C5s are great cars, if it wasn't for the fact you have to drop the whole rear suspension to do a clutch job, I'd probably own one

Sometimes you have to put in that extra work 💪

Shit really? Mine slipped on me once last year, I figured we'll see what happens but I can do it in driveway if I have too. Sure didn't know that, Maybe I should sell before it goes?

My C5 had electrical issues for sure. Part of the game I guess lol

Definitely is. But it’s a car that’s worth a little trouble

So I got an 89 mustang and it ran great up until I fixed some wires in my driver door inside that rubber boot. My window would go up and stop and up again when the door would move so I took the wires out and they were old and all cut I fixed them, or so I thought, and the car would fall on its face, nor did it get any acceleration power after 1/4th of pressing the pedal.

Oh word? I am planning to take the door panels off and take a good look at both sides. I need to see if maybe the connectors are dirty or busted. Everything working fine right now though. Car is very bipolar.
I do really want a first gen mustang but I know that’ll be a fat headache so props to you for getting a third gen 🙏

I agree. Corvettes should be loud!

Low battery voltage in C5 Corvette will throw off a lot of confusing electrical signals! Try an Optima Battery new. U will fix About 95% of those issues.

I found what the issue was. The passenger door jam 🙌

Optima batteries are the problem in some cases. They are now made in Mexico, and of very poor quality. Overpriced , pathetic warranty, and not compatible with most battery tenders.

As far as the key fob, before you unlock your door hold the key fob close to where the handle is and hold lock and unlock until the car beeps then the key fob will work again. If not then sumthan else is wrong. 👍 If you want your car louder you need headers and a X-Pipe.

@DrakenSolo Hell yea glad I could help! I remember seeing someone say that trick in another UA-cam comment and nobody else on UA-cam mentions that and it's such a big deal. 👍

You have to chase improve all the grounds five or six of them all throughout the car, just part of the game start there.
never bother with a steelership you rarely get what you pay for and they can make things worse.
Find some of the Corvette / Chevy userforms there's always somebody that's been there done that

Sadly I can’t do the big stuff myself. But if I’m in dire need I’ll hit the steelership. The one I go to there’s a couple of OGs there that work on the older model corvettes a lot.

Nah no bad deal. Everything is going as expected. Just have to make sure to keep the car well maintained.

I have heard the C5 has a parasitic drain and if you don't drive it for a while, the battery will die. Check the battery date. And remember, there's no shame in going to a Chevy dealership for work. We are not all master mechanics.

    • @DrakenSolo
      @DrakenSolo  Місяць тому +1

Yeah mine will die in about a week. I absolutely go to the dealer for work I can’t do myself. I don’t know any mechanics in my area and I know the dealership will do a good job.
