    On the day this comes out everyone should watch the original on Disney plus to show Disney that you don't need to remake a classic masterpiece in order to make it relevant.

    Oh nice and I loved Pinocchio as a child. If it wasn’t for Jimmy Cricket, Pinocchio wouldn’t have be a real boy. People should always listen to their conscience to avoid trouble. From what he experienced, is the reason why you shouldn’t talk to strangers cause not everybody can be trusted. Pinocchio got sold off to a greedy puppet master and to the park on the island where it was cursed. Whoever acts bad will turn into a donkey, it even happened to Lampwick and the other boys. Some still were able to talk and some weren’t and were sold off to a circus. They shouldn’t have been naughty boys, they made their bed now they have to sleep in it. Pinocchio was almost a donkey too, but Jimmininy got him out of there before it got worse. But anyway, my all time favorite part about the movie was when he become a real boy and when Jimminy became his official conscience.

      @@DaveLeeDownUnder I mean... you have a scene in the trailer in which Gideon rises John's hat to see over him... and you don't use the same exact scene from the original... (this applies with many others scenes, but this is the lesser complaint, maybe you didn't aim for this)
      I get cutting the new characters stuff, but one of them is a dancing puppetter... you really couldn't replace her with the three sets of dancing female puppets from the original?
      What about the cuts like in "Be brave, truthful and unselfish"? You cut the last part, said by Jiminy... why?
      I get your snarkiness too: you did a discrete job, some guys come to tell you how to do it, of course you'll be like "If you're so good at nitpicking, why don't you try to do it?". On this note, my man... I did: I stayed awake until 3 AM to make a good mushup being faithful as much as possible with every shots.
      Excuses in advance, 'cause I wanna be brutally honest now: when I'm translating a video, or doing these cool "new content with old stuff", I always hate when people beat me to it (like you at the teaser of this same movie)... this is the first time I don't feel beaten. I'm sorry but... there IS so much place to improve for perfection, without the shortcuts you took.
      As I said, yours IS a very good effort, just... not a perfect one. (not saying mine is perfect, but... I dare to say it's dang close to it.)

    Yeah, Disney it sounds like this is shot for shot, just like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King were. Disney has clearly hit the bottom of the barrel.

    • @DaveLeeDownUnder
      @DaveLeeDownUnder  Рік тому

      Yet, both of those movies made close to $2billion at the box office. Barely bottom of the barrel if they’re successful.

      @hotwax9376 Рік тому

      @@DaveLeeDownUnder I'm talking creativity-wise, not financially. It pains me to see how much money some of these films are making, because it means we're only going to keep getting more of them. Doing a shot for shot remake of an animated film in live action or realistic CG (or, for that matter, a slightly modified reboot) is intellectually lazy, and even the defenders of these films know it. If they say otherwise, they're lying through their teeth.
      If Disney should be remaking or rebooting any of their films, then it should be the live action ones in animated form. I think you could make a great animated version of The Parent Trap, for example, with the Sherman Brothers' score from the original 60s film--and I say this as someone who grew up on the 90s remake with Lindsay Lohan. (It could also make an awesome stage musical, but I digress.) Likewise, Mary Poppins would've worked just as well as an all-animated film versus the live action and animation hybrid we got. The Shaggy Dog, The Absent-Minded Professor/Flubber, Honey I Shrunk the Kids: all of them would work as animated films. But The Lion King does not--I repeat, DOES NOT--work either in live action or realistic CGI. And what makes money for shareholders now isn't necessarily what's good for the company long term. I wouldn't be surprised if in another 10-20 years we look back on this period in Disney's history as an embarrassing (if successful) one, and hardly anybody wants to admit they saw these movies.
