Wow. It's sooooo .....jazz. She knows how to tweek this old tune without destroying it. Bravo to you, Norah... Great artist, such as you should be preserved.
If you want a real treat, youtube the video of Nora and Bonnie Raitt singing this together. Don't think I've heard this song performed any better than that.
I saw Norah Jones live tonight in Boston. The old band was so much better than the new band! Still awesome to see her live though, I hope she never stops playing.
Made me tear up...for many reasons, it was one of my parents favorite songs..God Bless them. I wish they could have heard Nora sing it! They would have loved it also.. oxoxox
I have heard this song when I was a kid. My mama used to play it a lot, but it was by a different lady. Never have I heard it sang like this! OMG this lady has a beautiful voice and a very unique way of putting her style in music. Voice of an angel. And excellent back up band! I could dance to this all night with the perfect man...a man that likes trains the way I do!
Snare may be a little loud at beginning, but drummer does a great job during vocal and carrying rhythm during instrumentals. I think he does a nice job of carrying rhythm and jazzing up his intros. Great job at end. During the solos and at end he shows he can be subtle while stll driving the beat. With Norah's terrific voice and piano, why worry about anything else.
And I knew just how much I had lost/I have lost my little darlin'/The night they were playing/The beautiful beautiful Tennessee Waltz! This song is just perfect for me right now! Witness me singing the blues!hahaha!
Once again great voice, great artist, great talent, in fact extraordinary talent....love her rendition of Tennessee Waltz, in fact one of the best I've heard.
Anyone else try it at 1.25 speed? Think I like it better like that. Though my personal favorite version is Sam Cooke's double time version from his "Sam Cooke at the Copa" album
The best Tennessee Waltz I've ever heard.
ひろぽん Sam Cooke still owns this one for me. Albeit a completely different version and feel between the two.
Eva Cassidy is mighty fine❤
One of the world's greatest musical artists.
This is one of those songs and performances that quietly knocks your socks off - just sublime
Norah Jones is the best thing that ever happened to music.
A very rare time I give "thumbs up" to so many songs, but she deserves them all.
She’s so talented wtf!!!! She can play jazz piano, guitar and can sing!!! Oh my . And she’s so gorgeous. Marry me marry me marry me
Yes, agreed❤️
No, marry me Norah!
Wow. It's sooooo .....jazz. She knows how to tweek this old tune without destroying it. Bravo to you, Norah... Great artist, such as you should be preserved.
waltz, not jazz
she finds the soul in any song of any genre
YES!
Beautiful. Eva Cassidy also does an amazing rendition of this on her album 'Imagine' if anyone is interested.
Checked out Eva Cassidy-She's Awesome!!
Yes, she is...she also does a great job of Hallelujah I Love Him So
Love her, thank you for introducing me to her!!!!
If you want a real treat, youtube the video of Nora and Bonnie Raitt singing this together. Don't think I've heard this song performed any better than that.
except this one, beautiful, and I do mean the music
Like To Find In On Dic. Or Mp3
I love them both Randy, both versions are great, but I have to agree with your choice.
Sam Cooke's live version is the best. Although this and the one w Bonnie Raitt is great
Wow, Norah nailed the heartache of this classic song. Bravo!
Great way to start a Sunday morning. Check out her duet with Bonnie Rait on this classic song.
Beautiful bluesy cover… Controlled heartache pours out of voice.
Wow. 20 years...still significant.
This solo is so in pocket. Great band.
It's so great to know there are still a few female recording artists out there that remain fully clothed while performing. Love ya' NORAH!!!
Yea , but she's a result of an illegitimate relationship ....
Why the hell would you make a comment like that. We should dislike her for the actions of her parrents. You are a dope! @gmtoolman67
I can't help shedding tears to listen this.
The way she sings this reminds me of Ray Charles' "Drown in My Own Tears".
Her take on country is amazing .
Can't say enough about this band. I want to have a glass of resting, from Washington state and just listen to this smooth rhythm
Wonderful rendition of a great song -
beautiful voice - perfect !!!
I saw Norah Jones live tonight in Boston. The old band was so much better than the new band! Still awesome to see her live though, I hope she never stops playing.
