I show you an example of 1 foot candle of light inside a 2x4 foot gorilla grow tent. This is how much light it takes to throw your cannabis plants back into the vegetative stage of growth from flowering.

I just got told good luck with my Spider Farmer tent, that it will have light leaks because it's a Chinese tent... and I chose it over Gorilla Tents for their history of weak zippers and ,,,,yes, light leaks.. thanks for posting this video.

An easy rule of thumb I've used is: is there enough light to throw a shadow on the plant?
I've grown on a balcony and had re-vegging resulting from lights inside hitting the plant at night. Being attentive to curtains dealt with that. There's always some ambient nighttime light in the city where I live. If you can see a shadow on the plant when you wave your hand - problem. If not, you're OK in my experience.

Good to know. Thankfully I'm a rookie grower and went with autoflowers for my first grow. I think it's nearly impossible to give them too much light unlike phenos. But I'll remember this when I swap to growing phenos for sure. Thanks!

Doesnt explain light leak, doesnt explain wtf he's doing or trying to simulate. I learned nothing other than how to do shadow puppets in a grow tent...

What have you used to cover the leak? I thought tape would be a easy solution, but I’ve also heard just a dab of wood flue over the hole will fix it?

i had the bottom of my door open and left for the night. all it got was one morning worth of light leaking into the tent, but it was just about 5 hours worth. will this ruin all my plants then or is it ok? how long the light leak happens and the severity. might be nice to know

@No Body Who turns the moon off if photos can't have any light?

@@Rizik1986 yeah good point... wondering that myself. a pinhole that doesn't even reach your plants vs the moon, i'd say the moon beats that by 1000%. (fudging those numbers but meh)

@@ThatHippyDuck We need someone like Migrow to do a scientific experiment to see how much par/ppfd is too much for a photo plant during it's dark period to truly know how much is too much. I grew my first plant, an auto just because I knew I can't provide a solid dark area for 8+ hours. But I would love to get the #s so I can see if it's actually feasible for me. I use emergency mylar blankets as my grow tent. Outside of the blankets with my lights on my PPFD is less then 10. Lights out it's zero. So I wonder if that is good enough. What scared me from trying is folks talking about pinholes being enough to mess up a photo so I haven't tried it yet.
