I’m in the research phase for a longform video on Tomcat. I will definitely get in touch with you, as this channel has been a great resource for me. Would love if you guys could get into the 14’s performance against the Eagle… I’ve heard a lot of promising stories about the turkey coming out on top during DACT more often than you would think.
What I was surprised to find out in all this time of fishing for info, was that the Tomcat gave even the F-16N a run for it’s money if brought down low and 1 or more NATOPS no-no’s we’re committed. The turkey could turn like no other if pushed to do so.
Could you do a shoot off please? I have a CR920 that is experiencing slide catching on a barrel that replaced the defective original. Thinking of replacing it with one of those two or the M&P 2.0 3.6” that I was impressed with from your review.
My exact thoughts as well. Hard to know in the time frame in which this took place. Still an awesome story would love to see the tape. Phantom and the Tomcat are my absolute favorite fighter jets.
Ok.. He looked at the 14s wing vibrating at 6 gs and said KOOL to himself.. I don't believe that for a second.. I bet he was concerned a bit instead of thinking, "well that's KOOL"!
Why would you think that? I agree with Bio and I saw the wing move like that many times and never felt endangered.....it was a Grumman Iron Works machine and we all believed and trusted it. The airplane rarely failed us, usually it was the other way around. Ron "Grape" Lang East coast F14's 1976 to 1989
@@ronlang3435 Awesome time to be flying Navy. Those early jets were some of the lightest and fastest of all the Tomcats. All electron-beam-welded wing carry-through structure was the largest titanium weldment in existence Those wings weren't going anywhere.
Awesome. "Watch the mountains! "
Awesome story
Glad you liked it.
Good to see Bio!
Mission flown as briefed, what’s your problem? The ground crew will pick the cactus thorns out of the wing tips, they’re used to it.
Cool story bio👍👍👍. Thx for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Bio thx for your time .
Man, I Hope Reflected is watching this.
Mig-23 very difficult to control. I believe a USAF General who barely looked at manual and crashed. In the mid 80's I believe.
Gen Bond.
@@tonk4967 thank you

Then the F-16 enters the ring and kicked all butt...
@@265justy Every platform has its strengths, and weaknesses.

I have the movie from 2006 or 7. You the same guys?
Hard wing Phantoms or slats?

@@warrenchambers4819 Good question. The F-4S model with leading edge slats turned much tighter and was a worthy opponent even for a Tomcat driver.
