    🖋️I think this is my new favorite “how to annotate” video!! I love your organized technique, I started doing something similar with my Dorian Gray reread and I’m still trying to decide if I enjoy it or not 😂 but yours are so beautiful!!! ❤

    Wow! 😁 Your video popped up in my "recommendeds" section, and something told me to give your video a look-see. I am looking to get into two different types of journaling -- commonplace books, and annotations, and I can see the potential for the two styles to correspond and blend, even though the styles are somewhat different. So, naturally, videos about both types have been coming into my personal "algorithm."
    Your organization of all your supplies by color is Olympic-level, girl! 😅😁 If I had the space you have just for the organizer drawers, I would be in heaven!! 1-BR apartments and sh**-tons of creative energy don't always mix.

    Not only did I stay til the end, I watched twice 😂 ✒️
    I am so wanting to start annotating and I LOVE tabs and how they look. I am just stuck on how to know what to tab, like how to get started on that part. So then I get overwhelmed and don’t start. I guess I just need to try it,-but these versions that aren’t so focused on writing in your books really helped me out thank you so much!!

    🖋️thank you, Mabel! Your system makes total sense and I am going to give it a try. I especially liked what you said about leaving a mark on our book as it leaves a mark on us. This year I have been re-reading those books on my shelf that I cannot part from.
    So nice to meet you, and looking forward to watch more of your videos. (Oh, your pens organized by graded colour…😍) greetings from the other side of the world, Valentina

    🖋️ Thank you for sharing your annotations with us. The only annotations I ever done was underline or highlight my book or put a ripple piece of paper as a bookmark 😂🫣 I never done tab like yours before. Your is so beautiful tab😍. I going to go back to some of my favorite books and redo them with tab.😄

    How do you choose your subjects for each tab? Do you use the same annotation key for certain book genres? 🙏🏻

    • @mabeljournals
      @mabeljournals  Рік тому +2

      It’s usually similar for each genre but can vary a bit depending on length or content. Thank you for the question I might elaborate on it in another video 🥰

  • @cytje92
    @cytje92 Рік тому +1

    Maybe I missed it, but how do you determine the topics, like love and characters beforehand? Do you flip though the book or do you use the same themes for the same genres? Kisses from the Netherlands 🖋️❤

    • @mabeljournals
      @mabeljournals  Рік тому +2

      Great question! Usually I select based on genre, but lately it also depends on what I’m interested in tracking at that moment. I was going to include this portion in the video but it changes so often! The major ones I stick to most of the time are love, sad, key/important, plot development, quotes, and mad/triggers.

    If ur books are tabbed, can u no longer have ur books touching the wall of a shelf or else the tabs would get smushed?

    • @mabeljournals
      @mabeljournals  7 місяців тому +2

      Yes I learned this the hard way!! But books are not suppose to be place right on the back of the shelf they need some room to prevent rot and mold so I have been giving them some space and its helping keep my tabs intact
