I have Nanoleaf shapes, but it's connectivity issues drive me insane. I have the govee glide and some aura lamps. I have been thinking about replacing the shapes with these hexagons. This was a great review video. Thank you.
@@SoCalGamers1 get the govee hexagons. There are somethings that are done better with Nanoleaf. Like you said with the gaps. But overall I am so happy I switched.
Was hoping for a more competitive price point especially considering its missing HomeKit, comparing its price point in my country its the same price as a 7 panel nanoleaf :(
Totally, not bad but don’t bring that much to the table for the asked price, I really like govee products but still think this time Nanoleaf still better
These beat the Nano Leafs 1000 times over. The Install has more customization, clean shape, lights look 10 times better and it actually connects to your wifi.
Well, can't buy them in Canada and they give no specs. Seems kind of sketchy. I have a Govee light strip and the strip itself seems to be good build quality, though I bought one for my nephew and his PSU started whine loudly and got dangerously hot with in 3 months and I had to replace it with a better one (I'm just glad it got loud before it could hurt him). But their software is a c+ at best. It does everything it's supposed to do but leaves so much to be desired and has a lot of pointless filler. They say you can make "custom" animations and I guess technically that's true but really there is like eight options of preset animations and you just basically get to pick what colours they are going to be and how fast they run (woo). You can also sort of macro them together into a series but it..well.. it looks like that. The app has timers but they only turn the light on or off. So you can't tell it to turn white at noon, yellow at 18:00, preset 1 at 21:00 or animation 4 at 23:00 for examples. I don't need "Govee points" or a "what's your favorite vacation destination" survey, I just want cool lights that do exactly what I want them to do when I want them to do it.
Its not command strips, its a bit like it. I have tried removing generally no issues but I had one of the panels take off a little bit of plaster which was annoying.
Allot of great information. I do have one question. Does it have to be wifi to control? I need to limit how many devices I have on wifi because of my issue. I have two other Govee light I connect to via Bluetooth and it works great. And, thanks for the information.
Would love to get these if there was a way to control them hard-wired. I don't need yet another thing depending on my phone for control. I would love to attach them to my computer via USB.
Bro for that price point i can get a 3d printer and a strip light with much more functions and a fancier design like a 3d prism and all less than the price their offering and considering the quality it looks really bad the lights are visible from the back and that looks really bad overall can make a much better one cheaper and in the end thats my opinion 🤷♂️
These are definitely not Nanoleaf killers. The colors look extremely cheap and the build looks like flimsy plastic. Good try Govee but you missed big time!
@@willcastlereviews yeah agree, it lacks finesse. I think the reason is the border and thick profile. The price also does not help. If I have the money and have to choose I'd go Nanoleaf since the price is so close. I have 2 packs Nanoleaf shapes and they are great.
great presentation, i've been a fan of Govee products since the Immersion. quick question though is it possible to add panels or are you stuck with 10 that's included in the kit?
Although I have some govee products and overall the quality is ok, govee is such copycat company. Almost all of their products look exactly like from the competitors. There is absolutely no independence or creativity to be found in Govee's products. Hell, even the packaging here in this video is 100% copied from Philips Hue. At first I thought it was about a Hue product. It's ridiculous.
It would be great if they would use command strip instead that way they could be removed easily from the wall and replaced at a new location or new apartment by just placing new command strips on the wall side and the old command strips can be easily removed from the wall and leave no marks or damage to the wall surfaces. The medium-sized command strip is rated 9lbs and the small ones are rated for 5. The larger ones are rated at 16lbs! I think I would replace the sticky strips included with the command strips.
How low do these dim down, especially on effects mode ? The reason I ask is because, I recently bought and returned a Govee Glide RGBIC Smart Wall Light. The problem being, when on a solid colour the light would dim down ultra low to almost a glow but when using an effect/scene the brightness on its lowest setting was the same as a solid colour at 75% brightness. I want this on my living room wall but not if its going to be a permanent distraction.

I have lots of Govee products, but these seem to look more like a prototype. Let’s hope Gen 2 they slim them out and remove the black border

Thanks for the comment much appreciated.
Dude I have the same issue with my nanoleaf planning to get these the only thing I dislike is the border from the hexagons big gap of no light

Govee is 100% more reliable than Nanoleaf and Govee's customer service is actually responsive and friendly. Great video
If today you had to advise me between Nanoleaf and Govee, which do you think is more beautiful as a product? Thank you

Wonderful! Very cool.....Wonderful! Very cool.....
cant find em on amazon or their website
I want these! I will have them for my next place!
Nice video! But for me, nothing beats the bright and cool vibes that Nanoleaf brings to my room.
👍130!Very nice sharing my friend!👍 So informative!👍
Outstanding presentation 👍I seriously enjoy your video till end superrbbb👌
Is the tape on the back removable? Without messing up the wall? is it command strips or something else?
Its not command strips, its a bit like it. I have tried removing generally no issues but I had one of the panels take off a little bit of plaster which was annoying.
@@GeekStreet thanks for the clarity on that. I wish they would make a version of all these wall lights that don't use adhesive... Dumb they don't.
So a Nanoleaf is 8mm thick. This is 1,7cm. Which is more then double as thick? I think on the wall it makes sense to be as thin as possible?
So Amazing my friend
The Nanoleaf strobe bars are annoying. There have been some complaints about the connectors connecting and disconnecting can be an issue.
The backlit is awesome. 1 price for 2 effects
Wow...Very nice, Keep it up! I'm waiting for you at my place too, it would help me a lot!
Good review.. ❤
Nice video. Have a good day.

You can control with just Bluetooth what I remember
Great review
could hook two sets together?
Nice sharing .. Stay connected

Get an android emulator and just download the app on your computer
can you sync this up with the immersion kit like the rest of the govee stuff
?
Yes but it has to be a particular hardware version I mentioned in the video, can't remember off hand.
Great presentation my friend
Good intro and nice vidio, keep succes👍👍
Great work
Wow still pretty expensive. But you get alot of pannels. But cheaper than nano leaf.
Nice sharing a new friend here watching
I love your videos so much😍

my dads electricity bills when i buy this 📈
Hey so i got these now and the numbers on the back of the panels are they supposed to be linked in chronological order? or can i freely set them up?
Whoa way 2 much money. They r cool but not for that price. 178 jus wow
Why couldnt this be $99 its $189 as of 11-7-21 :(....but might be worth it
thought that the product would've been dead haha

I think your wrong. Nanoleaf is not rgbic per panel. The only negative I see with govee is the setup which is not a deal breaker
@@jdagreek it’s my opinion. I think they look extremely cheap looking and the colors are tacky.

Killer? Solche Wörter lassen nach meiner Meinung solche Videos extrem unseriös wirken.
cheap Nanoleaf replica!
Everytime this guy's says "blank killer!?" What he's saying is I'm going to show you guys the Chinese knockoff.
Almost got a seizure. A warning next time please. That music demo section was way too intense with the lights
great presentation, i've been a fan of Govee products since the Immersion. quick question though is it possible to add panels or are you stuck with 10 that's included in the kit?
I believe you can add more, as in the promotional pictures on amazon and their site its shows up to 20 connected at once
@@thetechy9442 it shows 20 but if you look close it's using 2 power cables
According to Govee, they only allow 10 for now. This is according to them in response to the same question asked on Amazon.

Are the Govee panels removable from the wall and could be repositioned and if how easy is this?
Is it RGBIC or RGBICWW? What are the max lumens? What are the DIY options? Is finger sketch an option?
What is the maximun number of panels you can connect together?

Thanks for the discount code...it saved me some $$!! New sub for life and awesome video! Just purchased a set.
Good.
They should be magnetic

Yes because I don’t want to get something to only use it one time and only be able to put it in one way in one place
I'm really glad you said this. If I get these I'll probably use command strips. I have no idea why Govee would use super adhesives.

ngl i like govee but these are shit compared to nanoleafs imo.
Can they work with Bluetooth, the wifi I have where I live is 5ghz and almost no wifi capable rgb product uses it.
the software looks way better than the one from nanoleaf... i dont like the cabling from goove tbh.
The Govee panels look better than the Nanoleaf. The Nanoleaf edges are too rounded. Govee looks like a solid shape.
How do you get them in the Uk? Their website doesn’t list them. Can’t find them on Amazon either.
How low do these dim down, especially on effects mode ?
The reason I ask is because, I recently bought and returned a Govee Glide RGBIC Smart Wall Light.

I dont like the black border of them and the flimsy connector. I have both brands of lights and find nano leaf alot better
I just spent $400 on nano leaf panels and can’t get them to sync for the life of me… time to return them and get these!
Woo! Nice video 🌺🌺🌺🌺💯💯💯
How it's Nanoleaf Killer when the price is same.
Very nice video
How about if I would like to create a whole wall ? Possible ?
