Amazing! I'm glad people keep this generations music alive. I enjoy listening to it over what they call country music today. Mandy Barnett is outstanding.
Saw Always Patsy Cline twice. Absolutely loved it!! Mandy did a marvelous job in that play.
Mandy is like fine wine…she gets better and better if there is such a thing..her live performances are magic, top notch and first class…levitating.! She is so underrated by the industry…she is the best in the business..
Lets just call her Mandy Barnett.She is good in her own name.Great performance by a great singer.

Love this woman, Loved Patsy Cline and this is what Country music is supposed to be. Too bad that there is not many left that can sing a song like this. She has more talent than most do today in what is called country.
Record producers of Nashville won't let anyone sing music like this anymore. They want rock music. You'd have to see a live show to see stuff like this.

If you closed your eyes and never heard Billy Walker’s introduction, you would actually think you were listening to Patsy Cline. Mandy Barnett is one hell of a singer and deserves to be rated so much higher in recognition and record sales.

Still wondering why Mandy Barnett isn't a household name in each and every home in America. I discovered her back in 1998 and have loved her ever since. I might add that all 8 of her CDs are a joy to behold. Looking forward to her next CD release!
Phenomenal performance and she looked so much like Patsy Cline here it was virtually unbelievable. Sounded like her too. Mandy has always been incredibly underrated.

This was done LONG before she was in Always Patsy Cline. This was right after she was picked as "the new Miss Patsy Cline" at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, Virginia. This is her first major public performance which makes it even more amazing in my opinion.
Mandy was never in the Apple Blossum parade nor crowned Miss Patsy Cline up there. She was named Miss Patsy Cline for the APC show.
Then why did Billy Walker say he just got back from Winchester where Mandy was named the "new Miss Patsy Cline"? I never said she was in the parade I said she had won the contest as the new Miss Patsy Cline. LIsten to the video again.
She is 18 here??!! Jeebus! It is pretty clear she aint no ordinary gal, aint no common 18 yr old with this kind of swag!

@amanda3685 She does perform just as herself now, but being a Patsy Cline imitater is what launched her career. She starred in a stage production at the Ryman called "Always Patsy Cline" in 1994.

This is very early in her career. Check out her video of "Legend in My Time" sung before the Opry family. She just gets better with time.
it was interesting to me an d my grandma at the time, because one of her good friends was married to a man that was a Connie Francis/patsy cline impersonator.

@patty45100 I can recall them mentioning a Mandy. There was a "sitter" or something by Mardine. As she was getting in the car. This was a teen, Julie would have been 3 yrs old. I never assumed this girl was her daughter. There are several inaccuracy in the movie.

one more thing...I believe this is still when the Opry was housed at Orpyland? You can see Mandy standing in the circle of wood from the original Ryman stage. Also, she was what only 16 or 17 right? not very old at all...I was 16 at the time and as I had said before in other comments, my grandma and I were really impressed and since my name is mandy also, grandma always had to comment to me anytime someone named mandy got famous.
The grand ole opry house is at where opryland used to be. It moved out there in the new building in 1974. They also started doing shows back at the Ryman in the winter.

Patsy was really from Gore, and Winchester only really embraced her after her demise.
She is very good, but I just don't hear it from the heart or "gut" like Patsy.
