Glasgow is the most populous city in Scotland 🏴, located on the banks of the river Clyde in west central Scotland it is the third most populous city in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and the 27th most populous city in Europe with the onset of the Industrial Revolution, and economy is one of the world’s pre eminent centers of chemicals, textiles and engineering in Europe. ♥️ ☺️
Glasgow is more like the fourth or fifth city in the UK, behind London, Birmingham, Manchester and South Yorkshire (though outside of Leeds nowhere in that area feels big). It has indeed been a centre of wealth, trade, culture, innovation and industry, but those days are long gone and Glasgow is far from operating at its full potential, often being in the shadow of its quite smaller but prettier sister, Edinburgh, who gets more visitors and investment, not to say that Glasgow isn't packed with beauty in an arguably more diverse cityscape. Glasgow is still struggling after decades of post-industrial depression and decay, and has a similar urban fabric to the likes of Manchester and Birmingham, where old gorgeous buildings, industrial and Victorian heritage exist along with ugly 60s and 70s buildings and modern glass and steel facades. Glasgow today though is very trendy, with many charming and hip neighbourhoods, with a lot of cultural activity, a great nightlife, and a lot of room for opportunity and growth. It most certainly feels like it's Scotland's big city, and one of the biggest in Britain.
