"Trestle". It was part of an old railroad line that used to run through there. Washington State has a pretty rich history of railroads, often tied to the mining history of the state. In this case, this particular railroad line was used for transporting steel. As times changed, many of the railroad lines stopped being used and have become trails. Many such trails are in the mountains. It's neat that this trrail is going to be in a less remote area.
