I will see if I can fit this in, hopefully the books are something I am interested in lol. Might help me clean out my list, as I will be like nope delete, nope delete lol. 😃
@@StormReads I have deleted a few already when I was looking at all my lists. Hopefully you will have something quick and easy that's also good at the bottom of your list! 😁
This really works out for me because I just hopped over to look at my oldest on my Goodreads TBR and it's actually the book that was chosen for this month's TBR spin!! 😂 I had already decided that I wouldn't get to it in July since I'm finishing up a couple of readathons, so yep, it's meant to be for August lol.
Ok, I'm gonna try not to get overwhelmed with this reading challenge because it's an excellent idea! I've got books on my bookshelves, on my Kindle and in my Audible library that are gathering cobwebs! 😆 I hope it'll be ok that if I choose something like The Three Musketeers (my Lawrence Ellsworth edition is 760 pages - not sure about my Penguins), I'm not sure I'll make the _four book_ challenge! 😉 Thanks for this! 📚
I’m amazed that you have so many videos on your watch later!! If I get to 30 on there, I get stressed!! While I was watching this, I was inspired to scroll through my Goodreads TBR and pick a book I added in July 2022 to read for this challenge-definitely not the oldest book by any means but one that seems old enough and fits my desire to read some fun beach reads in August!
Great idea! My Hoopla, Libby, Goodreads, and Amazon lists have hundreds of books on them. I'm sure some are ones that I don't even know why they're there 😂
@@lindseyreads5450 Yes, I'm tired of looking at those same lingering books. Which is why I want to think about at least starting the Martha Years for next year's Little House Readathon. All those Little House books look at me whenever I'm sorting my Goodreads list! 😉
@@lizziefayelovesbooks I didn't know you'd had them on your shelves for that long. I wasn't aware of the spin off series until you brought them to my attention. I've dabbled in the series and read a couple of the Martha and Caroline years. I'd love to read them all in order. I wish they weren't so hard to find! I'm only missing 2 or 3 but it's hard to start when I know there are some gaps! I haven't had any luck finding them in bookstores except the Macbride books. I might have to bite the bullet and order the last few online but they're pricey!

Hi, Elizabeth. We are of the same mind. About a week before you first mentioned you were thinking of doing this challenge for August, I had made a list of my oldest 'to read' books on Goodreads that I own to whittle away at starting this month to the end of the year. So, YES, I accept the challenge!!!
@@lizziefayelovesbooks Yes, under my reading goals for 2024. I assessed where I was in all my goals and whittled those down for the second half of the year to concentrate on WHAT I OWN and SERIES. These are the last to comment entries under that thread: the ASSESSMENT and then the RESET.

@@lizziefayelovesbooks absolutely. I have a lot of books on my Kindle that I purchased years ago and haven't read yet. I will try to tackle a few of those in August. :)
I will join you in this challenge. My oldest want to read on Goodreads by publication date 2011 is The Cat Lover's Devotional by M.R. Wells. My oldest want to read cozy mystery series on Goodreads is A Riley Creek Mystery series by Mary Lucal (3 books). My oldest new release book I purchased this year is Waverider by Kazu Kibuishi (book 9 in Amulet graphic Novel series). My oldest added books and release date on Hoopla are Paddington Bear series.
