I hope that y'all are having a wonderful week!! I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU so much for such beautiful and kind comments on the first moving video from a week or two ago.
Everything that y'all were saying was just SO wonderful, and kind, and it really warmed my heart to see such thoughtful and lovely comments. I was tearing up in the coffee shop as I was replying - much like I do in this video!!

If ANY influencer deserves to get Pr , things sent to them it’s you. The amount of gratitude you showed over those pans is more then I’ve ever seen an influencer give for even way more expensive items . You are so genuine💕
This is why I love Irene. She really appreciates not just the big thins but small things. Advice for moving, it’s never going to be the way you want it during the transition period. Just keep doing what you’re doing and appreciating when you get something new or find the perfect place for something and enjoy the process!
I just have to say….you are one of my favorite people to watch. Your energy is just so relaxed, calming, and humorous! So glad you are getting spoiled with all the cookware. You deserve it!
Best advice for small spaces: floating shelves everywhere (even in the kitchen and over door frames for appliances and decor), wall hangers and command hangers for everything (even pots and pans), door organizers for shoes, snacks, clothes, and kitchen supplies if you have a pantry, and shelf organizers for cabinets and closets. Cheaper furniture at antique stores or goodwill type places. Also, hang all your clothes and put folding clothes in baskets on the top and keep PJs in the night stand to get rid of the dresser. Seasonal stuff, put in vacuum seal bags under the bed and switch out. Use the tops of your cabinets too for specialty items. Make a mantle for router and electronics under the hung tv.
As someone who also recently moved, who is also feeling the pain of wanting everything to be done and nice and put in its spot, I've found that trying to focus on one room at a time is key for me. And trust me, its hard! But i've been finding peace with it, and its forcing me to take my time with putting the spaces together and making it so I truly like what im buying and putting in each space.

The wonder oven is giving easy bake oven and it reminds me of how we've made toy versions of adult stuff for kids and now we're making aesthetic adult stuff that looks like kids toys. I love it

Can I just say you have ALWAYS had Drew Barrymore energy and its something that has always made me laugh and smile! 💜🥰 I am wishing for nothing but positivity during this new transition for you. Lots of growth and lots of excitement and experiences will come from this journey 🙏🎉
We’re a military family and we move every few years. It’s so hard to make a space your own. Overtime, we’ve accumulated stuff that makes our homes feel like our own. What I’ve learned from moving so much is: do what you can with what you have to make it feel homey. Buy things with intention but that doesn’t mean filling your space while breaking the bank. Find things you love that are affordable. Don’t just fill your space with things you don’t love because you think it needs to be full. Overtime, you’ll start replacing things to a nicer version. Just like cookware, you use it, love it, and then you find yourself able to upgrade! Life is all about the seasons you’re in, a new season will come and so will the things you have.
Literally just moved and I definitely sympathize with wanting everything done right away. My advice - get everything you have and want to keep put in its place as is. Don’t wait to have your dining table/couch/rugs etc. If you get your essentials locked in, everything else will begin falling into place. Also Facebook marketplace… for everything

Reenie, it's overwhelming and it will be but what I found super useful is just.... Put things that don't necessarily need sorting (out of season clothes, knick knacks, etc) out of sight, in a box, whatever and focus on the areas you use most (kitchen, bathroom) first. They're set layouts and you can organise them. Once you're in the groove of the place and have those spaces clear, it'll make the rest of the space come together, I promise. Just limit the amount of stuff your brain is focusing on. Might not be as easy as it is for me, but that's the only advice I have!

Irene, you are doing such a great job. PLEASE stop being so hard on yourself. I know it’s one thing to say that and another to believe it. I struggle with OCD too and I had to learn that what works for someone else, doesn’t work for me.
You can’t live your life comparing what you’re doing to what someone else is doing.
There’s no deadline. Things get done when they get done. Your apartment is your space. It’ll get done when you have the capacity to get it done. ❤️
The OCD factor is so real. One list per room per day at a time helped me. Good luck 💕

Don’t be so hard on yourself! When we first moved into our apartment, we used boxes taped together as a table 😂 you’ll get there
Focus on the areas you use most, declutter unwanted things. You can also buy a cute Murphy bed that just hide away when not in use for more room or buy a couch bed or a trundle couch. Just for other bed options. As for the dresser you can move to other wall and put ur wifi set up on that and put two lamps on each side for more lighting and a nice mirror. It will give you you bigger and taller feel if the room🤘💜

I’m def gonna come back to the comments and see the tips and tricks to moving. I am looking for a place to move out on my own for the first time and I am terrified and already stressed lol.
We moved into our new place in March 2023 and we STILL don't have a dining table because unfortunately hours are terrible and so is the pay for our jobs and nowhere better is actually hiring despite claiming they are. BUT we have found little work-arounds that are very cozy (coffee table/picnic vibes, etc)

We found a couch that doubles as a bed at goodwill for $100 so they're out there!!

tip: check home goods for cheap kitchen/bathroom things!! their furniture is still kinda pricy but they have cheaper trash cans, incredibly cheap cooking oil, seasonings, kitchen utensils, plates, cups, soaps, towels, oven mits, pots/pans, and so much more. I stand by that place for house/apartment things. you won’t regret it!

Whenever I have moved, I find that I need to keep getting rid of stuff, especially when downsizing in terms of square footage. Like dishes you don’t use, towels/linens, clothes, and maybe…. A salt lamp 😅 jk love your truth
You could DIY a fake hollowed out book and put the internet stuff in them.. just cut a few holes in the back of the books for ventilation :)

Fun fact I’ve never decorated any of the places I’ve lived! Since moving into my new house with my wife we wanted more of a home feel rather than a frat house with the smelly couch we got off fb market place but neither of us decorate so… the idea is there but the execution may take some time. 😅

If your area has a habitat for humanity, they usually have really decent prices on furniture! I’m from Ohio, so I’m not sure if they have them in California.

Have you tried Facebook Marketplace? Or buying from thrift shops and DIYing something yourself if needed? I've even sat stuff out at my curb for anyone who can use it, including furniture, with a sign saying "free" and people will snatch it up. Is that something that is done where you live? Just some thoughts! 🙃

I cannot help you with any moving tips, sorry. We moved into the house we live in now in January and I turned 5 that April. I am now 26 and a half. I am lucky to have not moved a lot.

Ok baby hear me up. You asked for help, you got it.
First things first: get rid of stuff you don't need. I know it can be hard, but the 'lamp from dada' and the 'table from mama' won't make sense in a tiny space like your studio apartment. Forget what might happen in the future. Let's focus on NOW. And now you live in this tiny space. Let's get your head in a healthy place.
In my case, when I moved, I had a blank canvas to work with. And I stuck with only one logic (at the time I was watching a bunch of tiny house videos on youtube): keep it clean and simple. If you do, I can guarantee you will feel at peace.
Focus on the essentials: bed, couch, chairs, table, rugs, lamps.
All kitchen utensils MUST be put away in the kitchen cabinets and only display the things you use more frequently. Or else your entire apartment will look like a kitchen. If you are standing at the entrance, you see kitchen, if you are standing by the bed, you see kitchen. Hope you get what I mean. Let's not make the kitchen the focal point with utensils everywhere.
All the nics and nacs you have, BOX THEM! yeeaaaah! Put only a few displayed by the living area. Save the rest in boxes under the bed or in the closet and change them overtime. Your apartment will feel like a different place if you change things up a bit from time to time.
I'm not suggesting a Kim K interior design. I'm only saying that it might help to start with the most important pieces of forniture and then move to decoration. But in a tiny studio, I wouldn't display things everywhere. Give the apartment space to breathe.
I was thinking about writing more and more but, Irene, let's please just focus on getting rid of things. Stuff can go, memories stay (take pictures if you want, before giving them away). The reality is that you live in a tiny apartment, you will for sure want to invite friends and family once in a while, so let's work with what you have and think racionally. You'll get a bigger place in the future, and with a bigger place you will have the chance to start collecting things again.
