    Thank you! This was incredibly helpful! The one critical comment I have is that, with the white background and your (beautiful) light sweater, it's quite difficult to read the white text on screen. I'll definitely be looking for more of your videos, though! 😊

    I am new at weaving and your tutorials have helped me so much. You explain things so well. One thing I am having problems with is the warp spacing. I decided to try intricate shapes and read that if I double warp my loom, the shapes will be outlined much better. However, I am having a hard time with this. The warps seem to be so close together that when I am in the middle of my shape I can barely beat down the weft. It's so tight. I have tried different textures of yarn and even very thin yarn. But I run into the same issue. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Gina I absolutely live your channel. You explain things so well. Your tutorials are excellent, you've got such an easy style you dont rush things which I find sometimes other weavers lack.

    I don't understand what you mean by too many warp ends per inch. What is a warp end?

  • @franzrogar
    @franzrogar 3 роки тому +1

    4:40 The easier approach is to check the thickness of the weft thread against the distance between two threads of warp. If they match, that's the weft to use. If it's too big, it will be bulky and vice versa.

    Thank you for a really useful video. I am just learning to weave (here in UK) on a little rigid heddle loom that my husband made me...great fun but I’m making lots of mistakes! I tried to do hounds tooth yesterday but all I got was stripes! I am using extremely fine wool thread - may be thats the problem? I am awaiting delivery of some DK acrylic to practice on which I’m hoping might be easier ...? I am loving the whole process and hope to use some of my hand spun when I improve. I look forward to more of your great videos.

      Thank you for the nice comment :) Sounds like a lot of fun- congrats on starting your weaving journey! As you know, thinner yarns take a lot more time develop a design ( the lovely slow art of weaving). Perhaps try checking your warp density (especially if you are using very fine yarn)- it sounds like you may need to be using more ends per inch. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Good content, but maybe not so good to have white font on a pale background, makes it impossible to read.

    If my opionion is not weary The background is almost white. What u wear is grey and also the subtitle is white. For me to see the text of yr subtitle vividly you should change the color of your subtitle into more vivid highlighting color.

      Exactly! I was going to suggest the same: subtitles must be in contrasting colour from background.
