Pro tip, cut the wires at staggered lengths, then your connectors aren't all next to each other.
Great tip
Great video… doing this to mine soon. You’ve clarified how I thought it should be done
Thanks for watching the video. I'm glad it helped. Check out my test video part 1 to see it up and running. Appreciate the time to comment.
I am just going to do mine, before use and have watched a lot of videos and from what I can make out the filter should be on the pump inlet / tank outlet and be mounted at a 45 degree angle. These pumps are tiny and a bit of dirt scarf etc can ruin them, thanks for the video
Hi you are correct. Another viewer also pointed this out and I have addressed it on the testing video. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Wouldn’t you have the fuel filter coming from the fuel tank, then pump, then burner? You have it the other way around
@@waldo197720 i did hav it wrong first of all but it I corrected now. Thank for your comment
@ oddly enough I bought a Hcalory heater, paid a premium price relatively speaking for it a few weeks ago. It arrived how you had yours set up originally. So it was working fine, then the pump stopped pumping as it was blocked. The seller doesn’t accept returns. Then ordered a Maxpeedingrods 8kw which arrived yesterday, with no filter just a pump! Total joke. Anyway apart from the pump issue I found your video helpful from the wiring aspect.
@waldo197720 thanks for comment. It's greatly appreciated
Nicely done. A small point - it looks like you have the fuel filter flow direction reversed. IN is to the empty space outside the mesh - OUT is from the inside of the mesh. It shouldn't make any difference if you always use clean fuel, but for anyone using fuel contaminated with, say, dust the filter will clog quicker if reversed.
Added to my 'diesel heater hacks' playlist.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment and thanks for the tip! I will get that sorted. Look out for a new video on upgrading the pump. 🙏
@@CummaszonAdventures Another tip: remount the pump in some foam pipe insulation for 22mm - 3/4 inch pipes.
use screw/s to mount where pipe will be so pump doesn't touch them. Secure pump with one or two tie-wraps.
I have done this to a number of heaters. It's a lot cheaper than a pump upgrade.
It's quite effective. Or so I am told. I am substantially deaf. 🙂
I will be changing the pump hopefully next week so I will test it out. Thanks 👍
its not about clogging faster but this is cleanable filter. you can clean it it only if the dirt is outside of the mesh by unscrewing the filter body.
Thanks for the reply and information. I hope you enjoyed the video.
If you had left the 3 wires in the flex cable you would not have had to cover them in electrical tape 💡 👍
That's true but it wouldn't pass through the front chassis in the way I wanted. It's certainly an option though, I appreciate your time to comment.
Why don’t you use a camera tripod ☹️
@@wideboatbluebell3021 thanks for the advice. I certainly am trying to improve my videos. I hope at least the content was helpful
It may be worth replacing the insulating tape with heat-shrink sleeve. If you spill the tiniest bit of fuel on the tape, it will go all slimy and horrible. The resultant adhesive goo will make everything it touches sticky, you'll wish you'd never used tape!
That's a great point you raise. I will definitely get that changed. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
professional "upgrade" 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
