Brings back memories of when I lived on King Island as a kid. Stacks of fish and crays. When I was younger I went back quite a few times diving and got stacks of crays. Lovely place but them bloody March flies are a pain. It is said that when the wind stops blowing on King Island the cows fall over.
Was born and bred there and returned years later to work. Yes the constant wind and March flies certainly get you down after a while. I found Flinders Is. more temperate and enjoyable.

What an amazing episode Liv! King island looks amazing and I definitely am adding it to a bucket list destination to visit. Such a stunning place and the thought of purely living off the land is awesome! What massive crayfish everywhere, truly great eating and living. Totally agree with Tom, just need to win the lotto and retire on the island🤞 Catch you at the next one! Cheers🍻
Wow, what a lovely family to take the time and effort to showcase where they live, great episode , Tom get a hair cut otherwise you’ll need to carry a cross😂😂😂

No we don’t share these locations as we want to see the cray fish population grow and not get fished out by everyone. I’m sure you can understand this.
Was behind that nice ute in Uralla today, saw the youtube plug on the back, I hope you're making a video of the fucking nothing there is to do out here lol
Those Lobsters should be living when they are cooked NOT dead. There is a reason for boiling or removing the tail from the head carapace part of a lobster while living. If killed & left for a few hours, enzymes from the stomach region leach into the tail flesh tissue which breaks it down, to an almost paper-mashie effect if left long enough. Degraded, the flesh is soft & unpalatable. This does not happen to all crustaceans though, neither crabs nor prawns. The criterion that the lobster has been freshly boiled alive is to bend the tail around & it should be springy. If the tail goes limp then the lobster was boiled when not alive; don’t buy. This is the reason why when you buy lobster tails uncooked (in Australia) they are never with heads attached. Knowledgeable chef’s never buy dead crayfish with the head & tail still attached

@@THISISLIVN Asian bakery in Blackheath across the road from the pub, fair drive from Uralla lol.
@@hankshill71 we will have to check it out! We are from Newcastle so we don’t mind a drive 😄
Great entertainment but shit cray technique, every cray is rooted if you break the feelers off and they get away. It’s their only defence.
