I always hope to find little treasures like notes and name tags. This makes everything more valuable in my eyes. Stay tuned this month for another surprise along those lines 😍✨
How cute!! Coincidentally, my sister's friend just gave me a Madame Alexander doll she said her grandfather bought her mother in 1950! She said her name is Babs, but there are no markings on her body, and she came without clothes. Her body is like an adolescent girl just starting to develop.I put her in a dress I already had. ❤ P.S. The handwriting on the three tags looks remarkably similar to how my mother's handwriting looked! She had a couple dolls similar to these which are not around any more. She was born in 1927.
Aw I loved hearing about your mom. Could there be a mark on the back of your doll’s neck? Send me a pic of her when you get a chance. I’m no expert, just want to see her 😍✨
You really have fallen down the rabbit hole…isn’t it fun?! 😁😊. They are lovely dolls and cleaned up beautifully. I have some Madame Alexander dolls, but they are much newer ones.
Hi Maggie🤗 Ah yes, aren't these Alexander girls so cute? I'm glad you're enjoying the channel. It's been awhile since I've done dolly things but I just received a gift I'll be sharing. Stay tuned😍✨
$20 for each? I know they didn't come in boxes, but gee, what a bargain. Next time, remove the flowers and ribbons, first. I always took off tags, too. I didn't always get them back on, and have an old small chocolate tin, full of tags, small buttons, and shoe laces The prices are what we would've paid, in the early 80s. My advice is to not mess with her walking mechanism. They're all lovely, and you really got a bargain.
Hi! Thanks for the advice about the trims and tags. These girls are in a prominent place looking at me right now. They are so pretty and I'm glad I kept them. I had to. rewatch my video to remember what I paid. Yes, they were $20 each. I was floored by the previous owner in the 80s. That antique store had a reputation for gouging customers so I don't know if those were fair prices at the time. Not to worry, I won't be messing with any walking mechanisms. Lol 🥰✨
Hi Dot ~ Congratulations on 1,000 subscribers! I enjoyed this video. Boy, the MA dolls look fabulous after their baths. I have one MA doll from my childhood. She is a ballerina that my father bought for me at FAO Schwarz in NY in the 1970's. She is packed away somewhere, If I find her, I will send you a picture.
Hi Kara 🤗 Thank you so much! I don't know much about MA but I'm learning a little recently. She was an interesting woman with a spunky personality. I would love to see your doll if you locate her! 🥰✨
They all look so much better, and dare I say a little happier. I love the princess Elizabeth doll she’s got a beautiful face just like her namesake.❤️🇨🇦
Isn't Elizabeth just so sweet?! She's so happy and relaxed with her shoes and socks off, I've left her just so. She needs a restring to secure her well being, as her head is a bit wobbly. Hope you are exceedingly well my dear Laura! 🥰✨
Love Madame Alexander dolls! Your 3 are some of my favorites. Jeannie walker is on my dream list. Thanks for sharing, I love to see these beautiful dolls brought back to life.
Thanks Vicki. Even though these lovelies were probably neglected in the last several years, their dirt was fairly surface. Some grime just doesn't come off after decades. They are much more high class than the rest of my bunch but I won't hold that against them. 😂😍✨
You did such a wonderful job with these dolls. I love how you found the little provenance tucked in their underwear. I find it so satisfying cleaning up old dolls. It’s so fun watching you do it. 🤗 Congrats on 1000 subscribers! 🎉
I love a good clean baby! Lol. Yes it's satisfying and simple to give a little clean up. Handwritten notes get me every time. Could never leave a doll with a note. 😍✨
Their father had a doll hospital, and watching little girls, bring their broken dolls to her father, tears streaming down their cheeks, then their happiness just a week later, was what she credits her wanting to use composite materials.
This was so interesting.. I have a few unopened MA dolls from the Wizard of Oz Series McDonald's gave away in happy meals 😊..I need to find them and pull those out and see what I have. ..The local museum I used to visit as a young girl is currently having a temporary Madame Alexander exhibit celebrating 100yr anniversary. I originally planned to go while I was visiting this year bc they had one of the biggest dollhouse and miniatures collection, I really wanted to take all my Tiny Friends there and show them where I spent hours at a time as a young girl and how I found my passion and love for miniatures.. when I began planning my visit there I was devastated to find that they no longer have the dollhouse floor🥺. And I thought about going for the Madame Alexander exhibit, but I guess I was too disappointed. I have a cabbage patch doll that I would like to restore and clean up, including her box. I still had some doll clothes from when I was a cabbage patch kid and they had discoloration, I used a solution of dawn dish soap, baking soda, and vinegar. Worked really well. I'm not sure what I will use to clean her body, but I have seen a video on how to. I was wondering if the goo leaves an oil residue behind? Thanx for sharing!🥰💖 😮 p.s. I saw a ghost walk by in your video😆🫶🏽
Hi Jolene. I really enjoyed your comment, hearing about the museum. I'm so sorry they eliminated the dollhouse floor. Why o why? 😫 Dawn, vinegar and baking soda is about the best combination you can do! Dawn is great stuff. At the hospital it was the only thing we were allowed to use to have patients clean their breast pump pieces. GoJo is good for plastic and composition. (and human hands of course). I wouldn't use it on anything cloth or leather or porous material. Vinyl is tricky and I don't know much about it. It doesn't leave a greasy residue but it does leave a subtle shine. You can find it at many hardware stores. Non gritty is essential. I think the Wizard of oz Alexanders are pretty cute! 😍✨
@@tinykeyholeminis Hahaha! I didn't even notice. One of my sons. Lol. We have an old house and my daughter says it's haunted, but I can see why anyone would want to hang around us. We're too loud and distracted to notice hauntings Lol. 👻
That was lovely! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your dolls. :)
Great transformations! Thanks, Kathleen
Thanks my friend. My small effort really paid off on these 3. I'm really enjoying them and all their little details. 😍✨
Your dolls cleaned up so nicely! I love that they all had hidden notes tucked in their undies.

Love your Doll Collection Dot. The doll’s faces are so sweet and their dresses are very pretty.☺️❤️ Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Tali. I almost didn't get them because they're so much nicer than my other composition dolls. 😂 I'm really enjoying them. 😍✨

I’m not a collector, but I really enjoy seeing the composition dolls. It looks like you go a good deal. They cleaned up nicely.
A little gentle cleaning was all they needed to brighten up 😍✨

Wow you really have a lot of research on these dolls. That cleaning made them look new, wow. Thanks for sharing!
I like to do a little research and learn about dolls ( or anything!) and their history. I didn't have to work too hard to bring them to life. 😍✨

I enjoyed learning about the history of the MA company. 😍

Thank you so much MaryAnn! I appreciate the comment 😍✨

Oh my gosh, I love that! Would love to know more about their notes. Precious 😍✨
Nice find! They're beautiful.
Thanks Maroulio! I agree. Really enjoying this bunch. 😍✨
They are so sweet. Great purchases isn’t it funny how we start a collection.
It is so strange indeed! I love that no matter a person's age, life has surprises in store. Wonderful surprises😍✨

Ooh I forgot to ask, where was the ghost? I want to see. ☺️
@thedollcupboard lol... I was kidding it was a living person walking by while you were in the kitchen, but it was so fast looked like a ghost 👻 😍
