My rule ( I have been buying and selling for about 10 years) is if its an "iffy" project I must like the guitar to play because I might have to keep it I am also careful with my customers-- some people are players and some want everything perfect even if its an old guitar - Those perfectionists are better off paying top$$ at Gruhns or Elderly Also it helps to specialize- I know a fair amount about Martin and Gibson acoustics and my favorites- pre import Epiphones- I stay away from Rics- everybody thinks they want one until they get one and see how quirky they are-- they did however make awesome undervalued amps
I came across a 1969 Gibson J-50 for around $1,600 a few days ago and I absolutely loved it. I considered trading in my J-15 for it, but the frets had been worn down so much that they would absolutely need to be replaced. Everything else seemed to be in good shape and it sounded amazing. What do you think?
