Yes, we need a weekly update, as it'll help us novices in the garden know when to plant, plus Nicole needs to be a part of the podcast for all the girlies out there
Yes, a weekly garden update with Nichole would be great. I’m trying to grow a few sweet peppers and onions. I’ve had to research fertilizer because I killed a couple of my pepper plants. So far the new one hasn’t killed anything. They’re beautiful, but low to no fruit production.
Great live the other day. Really like the veggie garden update idea with Nicole. If you don't mind, I have some unsolicited veggie garden advice. I heard Nicole mention slugs in a previous video. If you have any mossy and moist areas near the veggie garden, do yourself a huge favor and dig them up with a shovel. Slugs love to lay eggs in the moss and they are prolific egg layers. You can try to get rid of them by using a rake or hoe to remove the moss, but I have found that digging (you don't have to go deep) up the moss works best. Then take all the moss out to your burn pile (use the cart) and burn it. Snails love the same moist areas. A single slug can produce enough eggs to completely destroy all the hard work put into growing a garden. Also, plant some marigolds near the veggie beds. I'm not sure if they act as a deterrent for slugs/snails or if they just like them better, but it does work to keep them at bay. I am no professional gardener, just passing on some wisdom from my grandpa. It works. Thanks for letting me rant. Love the podcast!🥰❤
If I recall, Sue, you’re my neighbor to the north, so I know you know about slugs and snails 😮😆 My solution for it was to get chickens 😬they scratch out the moss and eat the slugs. I didn’t know it when I got them, it was a very happy surprise and my lawn edges snapped back to moss-free fullness and the veggie garden was never overrun with slugs. But if you can’t get chickens, your way is very effective👍
@@Michele_Williams Hi neighbor, yes I'm too familiar with slugs and snails. I've had lots of animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, cows, horses, goats, and a piranha, but no chickens. My neighbors have free range chickens, though, and they show up frequently. Only problem is they eat my flowers and poop all over my patio and outdoor furniture. I still like them, but don't let them in the garden. 😊
@@suedoe4543 I learned early that you can have a nice, flowered landscape or chickens, not both! LOL! My pressure washer gets a good workout when they poop on the deck and I do have a temp fence for the veggie garden while it is growing because they WILL eat all of the lettuce and peas😖 But, man, I have a nice, lush lawn😂
Here I am catching up on the Tuesday podcast posting, and it’s still Monday because of that pesky 17 hour difference thing 😃 As always, an entertaining and informative podcast. Replaced some older tools this weekend with new Ryobi versions (not because they were broken, just handing the older tools down to persons in need) My kit was half the size of yours, but I also got the cool bag. A third mic is a good idea! For Nicole to use or other guests you may have. Veggie and chicken updates always appreciated. Hope to catch the next episode, you gents have a great week!
@@Michele_Williams that's cool, David is my real name Davis is my nickname due to a spelling mistake in the local paper when I was 13 , for selling the most legacy badges in the district 😁 nearly 48 years ago, yes I'm really old 😂😂😂.
we made the mistake a few years back and put our sir Walter clippings in our veggie garden and and our veggie garden ended up full of grass so maybe they done the same when it was in seed.
I think there is geographically influenced pronunciations, however it’s still not ‘foil’ no matter how Tim tries. I don’t think it matters much anyway, we all knew what he meant and it gave Carthic a good time😃👍

Hi Michele, I missed the live too, due to staying up all night watching the Olympics 😊 where are you watching from?I'm in Cowra NSW Australia.
@@davismorrisson9429 Hey! I might have called you David in chat, is it Davis? I apologize for that. I’m watching from Oregon, PacNW, USA.

I think whipper snipper slasher mower Blademate lawn care has used one.
It is pronounced foe·lee·idge
have you considered some Solar Panels to make you battery stuff even more Eco n Green?
Ahoj Time! Přeji krásný den a pohodový podcast! 🌿👍👋
why do you use the respirator when mowing tim is in because you don’t know what’s underneath the grass ?

Yet another good podcast keep it up chaps 👍
the pronunciation for foliage is foal-idge - say it like a baby horse, and fridge... ignore the 'i' in the word...

Can we start a poll on who should not have a 🎤. I vote for Matt.
Is it a good time for a lawn high reset in western Sydney. Getting ready for summer or should I wait a few weeks
Wait till end of Sept/Start of Oct at a minimum.
