    I used to fly Emirates - I stopped flying this airline when the airport became so big that it was a nightmare to take my elderly mother around. Now that I am getting older, I try to avoid both Dubai and Doha. I used to love the old Bahrain airport but can just about cope with the new one. I will pay extra to be able to bypass these airports and fly direct to my destination! Large airports are a pain in the neck!

    Indian passengers are the highest in numbers flying through Dubai International Airport, it was about 2.46 million in 2023. However UAE do not extend Visa On Arrival facility for Indian Citizens. So Indian tourists first preference will be the Countries which honor them with Visa On Arrival Facility. Last year Indians visited Bankgok was 1.62 million. Combined number of tourists to Bangok, Malidives, Bali from India was about 1 million and these tourist destinations offer visa on Arrival facility for Indians. So people prefer to visit these places since no Visa headaches for them.
    If the Gulf Countries, especially Dubai relax visa restrictions, they will get 50% more of Tourists from India.

    I’ve been there to visit it and for that purpose I then chose a flight that took off from there instead than DXB. Currently it’s a massive, empty site with one active runway, a micro-terminal and only bus transfers from the latter to the aircraft. It is indeed designed to become what is shown in this video eventually, but it’s very far from the city, so if they want to use it as an airport for Dubai as well (and not just for transit / connecting flights) they have to build a very fast railway, like HSL, if they want to win resistances to abandon the current DXB. Which is one of the nicest airports in the world, so DWC must also become at least just as nice, if it is to eventually replace DXB.

    • @7Word
      @7Word 3 місяці тому +1

      Well the fast train is already under development. DWC will eventually replace both DXB and AUH as it's conveniently located between the two cities

    • @carlo_berruti
      @carlo_berruti 2 місяці тому

      @@user-bn9pq5wv3o well, yes, not a single airport can possibly be in a city center, but the matter is how far it is from the city. In the case of DWC, it is extremely far away. And it will need for sure a high-speed train to be competitive and reach Dubai city in a short time. The distance from the city is a variable which is normally factored in, when planning a new airport. There were plans about building a new major airport servicing Paris, that would’ve been over 100 km far from the city; in the end, it was scrapped, because it was deemed to be too far

      Lol this idiot thinks india will become a transit hub. Fix your domestic flights first, delays and cancellations are soo common, you guys use tractors to move planes and luggage trolls to and fro from the aircraft. All your airlines are running in a loss and have nothing to offer other than cheap flights, air india is buying A350s now lol talk about being late to the party. Your airports are small and sloppy, and yes I am including your new Bengaluru terminal which is already having many maintenance issues and suffering from leaky ceilings, I mean like you guys thought you could copy singapore changi airport with that new terminal but it's just a cheap copy. Singapore and Dubai are miles ahead of you guys and they have all the facilities. No airline is stupid to have india as a transit hub, more than half your airports can't even accommodate the A380 lol. The problems are endless and I advise you to remain grounded with your thoughts.( lol see the pun I made there)

Also India has a plan to develop a network of around 200/250 airports within the next 20 years so the Dubai project is not a lunatic one like the NEOM (who will never exists ) , it is really keeping one step away from the travel needs .

Something to consider is logistics… How do you operate 4 international airports in such close proximity to each other with 2 of those housing 2 of the ME3? Airspace is congested, road and rail links are multiple…. But… what if you build one of the largest airports in the world pretty much on the boarder of the two respective Emirates, halfway between the two, promote and advertise incredible high speed shuttles, etc.? Airspace restrictions no longer become an issue, you merge the said two airlines together with the end result being one of, if not the power house airlines and airport in the world. Sounds sensible….. WDYT
