What is Shimmerblock in Terraria? Can you progress from nothing but a small pool of Shimmer all the way to defeating the Moon Lord? In this Terraria challenge map inspired by Skyblock, you start in a Master Mode world with nothing but your starter tools and a pool of shimmer in a mediumcore world.
Your goal is to not only survive but progress all the way to the Moon Lord and defeat them!

And can you try modded Skyblock I think it will be a good idea.

Interesting approach to venture to hell without using anvils shimmered down to iron and crafting iron weapons. 😊
@@godlootgaming1437 Hi godloot! I haven't done many collabs (Australian timezone is very out of sync with the rest of the world) but if I can get my routine back on track (so I don't let others down) I might start to try some.

It's crazy how quick you're progressing! I'll admit I was dubious the map would work in an episodic format but you're making solid steps forward each episode and making it very entertaining to watch, keep it up! Unlocking the water bucket for fishing is such a huge step, now if only there was a way to get sand for the angler...
There is. After he kills skeleton and he unlocks the tavernkeep he can buy ale, which can be shimmer into a mug, into glass, then sand

Thanks so much ChiefLogan_! I did a Skyblock series back in the day so I really enjoy this style of gameplay (it's like a Terraria puzzle!) I think now I just want to grind out some resources and setup my new farms properly before rushing ahead! 🍪
@@Theeldenringguy unfortunately the tavernkeep is unavailable in ShimmerBlock, he needs the EoW/BoC to be defeated which are both impossible on the map. There are other ways to get sand though

As to the question, I personally wouldn't mind Shimmerblock an every other day thing, so that it's not just a once a Saturday thing. Like have the getfixedboi series also every other day so that it's not just a full week of Legendary challenge and Saturday is Shimmerblock with a bonus getfixedboi later in the day. Love the progress that was made this episode.

If you throw a regular bomb right after you throw a dirt bomb, you'll speed up dirt farming by a lot. It also helps to have a chest were you throw the bombs so that you don't have to keep replacing the blocks.
Oh wow, thanks for the tip congaguy! It'll cost a bit of silver for the extra bomb but speed things up immensely! 🍪
@@happydaysgames alternatively, if you don't have money to spare for the extra bomb and you don't want to replace your stone block each time, you can make a gravedigger shovel (crafted at a work bench in a graveyard biome, it can mine "soft" blocks such as dirt in a 3x3 area)
Now that you've unlocked liquids, I hope you'll do the traditional liquid dupe trick to save yourself from an absurd amount of grinding. Fishing, automatic farming, next episode is looking like some BIG progress is going to be made. Now all you need is to figure out how to get bait for fishing and you're golden.

Happy, whenever you can during later game, you should spread dirt at the bottom of the world, so you have the entire worldspace to fight bosses, build an arena, etc., that and your items won't fall in the void anymore! It'll help a lot.
Great idea cellianexurianity! A single dirt bridge shouldn't take too long plus it'll help connect to all the biomes from the bottom of the world too! 🍪
8:00 this setup is making me think... can't... can't he just die a bunch, make a graveyear biome that will ahve increased constant enemy spawns even during the day.... and also you get a chance for Abigail flower?
EDIT: realized you need grass for the flower to spawn.... still. more enemy spawns from a graveyard biome sounds ideal for a volcano farm
easy fix with the dryad she sells grass seeds happy only needs more housing
@@azurephantom100Also need to have a boss defeated. Unless King Slime counts, that could be difficult to get without heart crystals or demon altars

By getting the water (or any liquid really) you can get infinite liquid by duplicating it with the weird bucket glitch, so now you don't have to spend ten minutes stabbing Lava Slimes anymore
I'm already looking forward to Happy being gone gain for an entire year because He'll be busy fishing those golden crates for Life Crystals
This map is really fun, it really challenges you with terraria’s more lesser known tricks/mechanics

I was fully prepared to tell you about the lava to water shimmer trick.... but you figured it out. Remember you can still make your own biomes and fish for crates... but you probably know that too lol. love these videos.
I've made so many pyramid traps cuz of your vids, they're the best! This shimmer skyblock is like a puzzle! Getting lava frommlava slimes is not something I would've thought of in 100 years! I don't mind waiting once a week at all but alternating uploads between your series was something I liked a lot from before.
Remember to place liquid blocks within range of crafting table with a bottle on it for potions and mud crafting. Jungle bio can randomly grow jungle trees. It's always interesting to see if a jungle tree grows before you get wood from travelling merchants or not. 😊👍
I'm actually really enjoying the shimmerblock episodes. I hope for more :). I would like them to be more frequent, personally, but I'll be happy either way.
Was bored of vanilla and mods quite a bit. This is a very fresh look to Terraria which I LOVED.

In Skyblock one really needs to use creative strategies… I absolutely wouldn’t have thought to shimmer the lava lol

Also I just realized but if you make a water duping thing (like with the hammered block and stuff) you can probably make infinite water, lava and honey without having to farm more lava slimes! :D
Happy Happy! I don’t know if you realized already, but you can use the water duplication trick to make more, and then you can shimmer more buckets to get more lava and skip the lava slimes! And I’ll warn you in advance, the sitting duck’s pole is sold by the traveling merchant post-Skeletron now, so don’t go trying to wait for him. Loving this series so far! 🍪

I would recommend duping all three liquids, and having a small reservoir for each so that you can easily grab what you need in the future.
I like these Skyblock challenges as much or more than your regular series! And I like those! 🙂

Happy, the brown background is the underground and the grey background is the caverns. The surface has no background
You get a temporary luck boost by throwing coins into the shimmer (the bigger the sacrifice, the bigger the buff). Good way to boost a slime staff chance
At 17:54 when you died, a trick for next time is just leave the world and rejoin and you will be at your base.
But what about your stuff? Doesn't it disappear on world load?

You can essentially buy iron from the Merchant in the form of anvils. Granted, they are kinda expensive.

If you can do the water duplicate glitch you can make a large enough pool of water to start fishing. Fishing would get you alot of stuff. Not sure how you'd get the fishing merchant. Maybe bridge to where the beach would be then leave and come back?

I HIGHLY reccommend crafting the Grave digger shovel to farm dirt way more quicly. And it will not mine the center stone block since the shovel only breaks soft blocks.

im actually so impressed shimmer lets you start with absolutely nothing and progress all the way through the game through changing random garbage thats typically in excess
EDIT: happy also dont forget the trick you just abused in your getfixedboi with water duplication, allowing for possibly endless lava/honey
I'm gonna be the biggest nerd ever for this comment but There might be a way to speed up the killing process for enemies that you can't kill from below and you have to kill them from the side like the lava slimes. If you make a simple hoik with some hammered down platforms (Like the one to enter the Jungle temple early) only on ONE side of the wall you can attack through it from that side while the enemies are trapped on the other. I'm not sure how well it would work with the copper shortsword for I haven't tested it yet but with weapon that has bigger hitboxes or that shot long range projectile It will prove incredibly handy! I'm loving this series so far and I'm so sad I watched it all just today cause I think this advise might lose relevance very soon, if it hasn't already...

Did you check the Traveling Merchant's shop? I'm not sure if it's the editing or I'm blind but you immediately trapped and then killed him without talking to him D:
You can Shimmer the Anvils from the Merchant to get Iron bars that you can make into Iron tools. Not much of an upgrade, but an upgrade nonetheless. 👍
You can buy torches from the merchant and shimmer them for wood and gel I think. Could be wrong but it would make sense because they craft torches

I feel like you should do the infinite water technique to gain lava buckets easier than farming lava slimes

Me thinking about just grenading the lava slimes to kill them faster after trapping them xD
I think it woudl be better to equip armored shackle for free 4 defence instead of selling it.

I decided to start a shimmer block of my own and I ended up getting 3 slime staff with is all of the slime staff I have ever gotten normally. Here are some tips oh wait you already figured out how to get water, but her another one this go to the ocean so you can get the angler to do quests for the good loot 🍪 🍪 🍪

Not sure if anyone pointed it out, but does shimmering a water bucket turn into lava? Does the water generator trick still work? I know it doesn't work for lava (or I couldn't get it to work) anymore.
Make a fishing pond under the farm and out lava in the farm
