If nothing means the absence of anything, than god can not create from nothing either since he wouldn't exist if there was nothing. Or you would have to adopt the same definition of nothing as certain scientists use it. That nothing means "no physical thing" instead of absolutely nothing.

In Islam - we are taught the Creator Is Separate from the creation, Self Sufficient and Independant from the creation and the Creator is One and Unique and does procreate nor is the Creator created. Study the Quran to read these attributes about the Creator. Also the Creator is the Most Powerful, Most Wise and Always Exists. The Creator is outside of Space and Time - because all that exists only depends on the Creator. For the Creator to Create - God just Wills something into existence and it happens. The Creator does NOT have another Creator creating the Creator creating the Creator creating the Creator - because in an infinite regress - nothing will come into existence. Hence for the cosmos to start off with the Big Bang - that "spark" came from something that caused it to exists but is separate from that "spark".

    Abbas has inconsistent beliefs.
    1. He believes as a principle that it's impossible for something to come from nothing.
    and
    2. He believes Allah created the material universe out of nothing (possible for something to come from nothing).

@@Stephen-yw9sn Thank you. And yes it is important to question everything. I do acknowledge that there are things we don’t and perhaps may never know about, but I also acknowledged that acting upon our lack of knowledge is how we get closer to the truth. In other words, It is important to not dismiss what we do not know because if we did then we would’ve never made any progress.
I carefully assessed everything around me at a young age and I’m still young. I’ve always had a thinking brain that never stops. I question every single thing repeatedly. And I did the same to the Quran.
When I first read the Quran, I found it repeatedly stated that it's the word of God. Apparently this is a plain fact. But when seen in context, it is an extraordinary statement. There are many books in the world which are believed to be sacred. But, except for the Quran, I did not find any religious book which thus projects itself as the word of God. This kind of statement, appearing uniquely in the Quran, gave me, the reader a point of departure. Being a native Arabic speaker, The style of address is quite exceptional. This kind of direct divine invocation is not present in any other book. It left a lasting impression on me and I felt someone is directly addressing me.
After I became a student of knowledge, I’ve learnt about Ilm Al-Ghayb. What is this you may ask? It is the Knowledge of the Unseen. It is knowledge only concealed to Allah. Then the third thing I acknowledged, is that the Quran’s author knows what we do not and makes it clear by repeatedly stating so. It is perhaps situated on a higher plane than the thought and speech of a human being and It served as a humble reminder to me again that we do not know everything.
Want to know what else I found to be a humble reminder? As I studied the Quran and came to learn about Musa’s pbuh story, guess what he asked? He asked to see Allah.
Allah answered with a sign that makes each of our hearts tremble every time we hear of it. Allah told Musa pbuh that he would not be able to see Him, but instead, Allah would show Himself to something much greater than man. He would show himself to a mountain, and if that mountain could withstand the sight of Allah, then Musa pbuh too would be given the opportunity to see Him.
According to a hadith verified by Al-Hakim, mentioned in tafseer Al-Jalalayn, Allah did not even show Himself in His entirety to the mountain. Rather, Allah revealed a portion of His light that is equivalent to half a nail of a little finger to this mountain.
The verse says that when Allah revealed Himself to the mountain "جعله دكا" - not only did the mountain collapse, it became dust.
So the fourth thing I acknowledged is that Allah is distinct from every other man-made religion portraying deities.
It’s been made clear in the Quran:
"No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things" (6:103)
“There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. The Creator of the heavens and the earth.” (42:11)
“He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there to him any equivalent.” (112:3-4)

Does it matter? The age of the Earth is not specifically mentioned in Quran or Hadith. The Quran is book of Signs not a science textbook. Yes we have some Ayah that touch on nature, astronomy etc - which we can verify with modern science. But we believe in the Quran because it is from Allah. Science is not why we believe in Quran, but it does help us understand and appreciate the Signs in the Quran better. But even without Science - we still believe in Quran and authentic Hadith.

The universe might be the thing that always existed. Perhaps you're not aware, but the big bang is not the beginning of the universe. It is the beginning of spacetime in its current form. But the universe itself might be eternal (the energy minus spacetime). Nobel prize winner Roger Penrose has postulated an hypothesis that the universe might be cyclical (CCC model) and that our universe continues to go different cycles.
You're free to google for it. The above is not controversial amongst astrophysicist.

Anything that changes is determined to be finite. Your so called Nobel prize winner is wrong. Having Nobel prize doesn't makes you correct. The universe is changing so it is an event and incident that begin to exist so it is determined to end. Most westerners have low IQ when it comes to this subject when Muslims solved this issue over 1400 years ago. European lived in dark ages and still are and will never see the light unless they become Muslims to free their minds from material world

@@takahashi2852 I guess you're not familiar with physics in general.
Everything is energy. Light, Radiation, any element in the periodic table. Coal is energy, Natural Gas is energy, but also iron, dirt, water etc.
During the big bang pure energy was transformed into elementary particles and later to hydrogen and helium. Those elements fuel stars which thransform them into heavier elements like oxigen, carbon, oxigen and eventually iron. When heavy stars went supernova even heavier elements like gold and platinum were created.
The universe is not a complex machine as you're trying to imply. It plays through the laws of nature, of which only a portion are known to man. It is like those beautiful fractals with lots of complexity and detail, that are created through simple mathematical equations.
Also, we don't know whether the universe was created or whether it is eternal. We don't know whether it is infinite or not.
Energy did not create the universe. The universe IS the energy. It transforms the energy from one state to another. The big bang was one of the event which did this.
A computer is made by man, we know that but there are a lot of things in the universe that form naturally. Stars and planets are not created with a magical want. We know the process and we can observe the processes in several stages throughout the galaxy. There is indication we need a creator for that at all.

Its a million times better than "GodDidIt" which explains nothing.
The point is however, that the argument often raised by theist "There isn't any other explanation, therefore god" is debunked here. There are other explanations and they are million times more likely to be true because they are build upon logic and reason, where as god hypothesis has nothing more to offer than just a claim.

    THE PORPUSE OF LIFE
Is To Believe in Allah and worship him alone and you'll be saved that's his promise , Allah ﷻ himself in the Quran says :
(Exalted is He in whose hand lies sovereignty, and He has power over all things.67:1 He who created death and life-to test you-which of you is best in conduct. He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.67:02)
(I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me. 51:56, I need no livelihood from them, nor do I need them to feed Me. 51:57, Allah is the Provider, the Possessor of Strength, the Firm. 51:58)
(And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition)
    (47:02)
(He will guide them and improve their condition) (47:05)
(And admit them to Paradise, which He has made known to them)(47:06)
    (147. What would Allah accomplish by your punishment, if you are thankful and faithful? Allah is Appreciative, Cognizant.)(4:147)
You might ask why ?! it's because all humanity promised Allah ﷻ when they were souls that they were going just to worship him alone Allah ﷻ say's :
(And when Your Lord summoned the descendants of Adam, and He made them testify about themselves. “Am I not your Lord?” They said, “Yes, You are, we testify.” Thus you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection, “We were not aware of this.”)(7:172)
(Nor can you say, “Our ancestors practiced idolatry before, and we are their descendants who came after them. Will you destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?”)(7:173)
(We thus elaborate the revelations, so that they may return(to us in worship, submission , prayer etc). 7:174
(We offered the Al-Amanah (moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties and obligations concerning worship which Allah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth and the mountains. But they refused to undertake it, and were apprehensive of it. Yet the human being undertook it. He has always been unfair and ignorant.) (33:72)
(So that Allah may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the idolatrous men and the idolatrous women, and so that Allah may relent towards the believing men and the believing women. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.)(33:73)
"Al-Amanah means Al-Fara'id (the obligatory duties). Allah offered them to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, (on the grounds that) if they fulfilled them, He would reward them; and if they failed, He would punish them. But they did not want to do that, and they were afraid of it, not because their intention was sinful, but because of their respect for the religion of Allah, in case they could not fulfill the obligations involved. Then Allah offered it to Adam, and he accepted it with all that it entailed. This is what is referred to in the Ayah: وَحَمَلَهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا (But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust and ignorant).
Ibn Abbas said The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Allah ﷻ said to Adam:"I have offered the Amanah (moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties and obligations concerning worship which Allah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they could not bear it. Will you take it on!' Adam said:`O Lord, what does it involve!' Allah ﷻ said : `If you do good, you will be rewarded, and if you do evil, you will be punished." So Adam took the Amanah and bore it, and this is what is referred to in the Verse (33:73): وَحَمَلَهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا (But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust and ignorant.''
And in the Hadith Allah ﷻ said: 'O Son of Adam, as long as you invoke Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O Son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and you then asked forgiveness from Me, I would forgive you. O Son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the Earth, and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it [too].'
Narrator: Anas bin Malik | The narrator: Al-Albani | Source: Sahih Al-Tirmidhi
    number: 3540
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said:
(Messenger of Allah, what are the two things quite unavoidable? He replied: He who dies without associating anyone with Allah would (necessarily) enter Paradise and he who dies associating anything with Allah would enter the (Fire of) Hell. Ref : Sahih Muslim (93a) In-book reference : Book 1, Hadith 175)
Gabriel عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ came to me and gave me the tidings:" Verily he who died amongst your Ummah without associating anything with Allah would enter Paradise. I (the narrator) said: Even if he committed adultery and theft. He (the Holy Prophet) said: (Yes), even if he committed adultery and theft." Sahih Muslim (94a) In-book reference : Book 1, Hadith 178)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah ﷻ will say to that person of the (Hell) Fire who will receive the least punishment, 'If you had everything on the earth, would you give it as a ransom to free yourself (i.e. save yourself from this Fire)?' He will say, 'Yes.' Then Allah will say, 'While you were in the backbone of Adam, I asked you much less than this, i.e. not to worship others besides Me, but you insisted on worshipping others besides me.' " Sahih al-Bukhari no (3334) In-book reference : Book 60, Hadith 9)
Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Allah ﷻ, the Exalted and High, would say to one who shall have to undergo the least torture (on the Day of Resurrection): Would you like to go as ransom if you had all worldly riches; he would say: Yes. Allah would say to him: When you were in the loins of Adam, I demanded from you something easier than this that you should not associate anything with Me. (The narrator says): I think He also said: I would not cause you to enter Hell-Fire but you defied and attributed Divinity (to others besides Me) Sahih Muslim no (2805)
