my health prohibits me from hiking in to see such amazingly moving art...thank you for making it possible for me time view such wonders...and I love the music...I thank you so much for this experience
If you go to Horseshoe Canyon, I recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle because of the drifting sand dunes - sleep overnight on the rim of the canyon - watch the sun come up - hike the canyon early in the morning and bring plenty of water. The beauty of the desert, canyon, and rock art is truly awesome!
I went there in winter. It wasn't that cold, the sun warmed things up. But I sure wouldn't want to be stuck there overnight in winter. The drive was a pain with a regular sedan, but if you take it easy you will make it. A magical place where you feel like you're Indiana Jones when there's no other people around!
Went there in mid June, ranger walks had ended. Beautiful, but bring at least one gallon of water per person and electrolyte. It was over 100 degrees in the canyon and the walk out up to the rim faces south. Start the hike at first light if you can. Enjoy!
