Damn bro, this channel is very underrated imo, you deserve to have sooo much more people. Also, your mixing skills are very nice to watch, smooth transitions, beatmatching is on point, its just very relaxing to watch and listen. I am also a vinyl dj, and ive been mixing for about 3 years now. Though, i would also like to record something, however my camera keeps quitting recording after 10 minutes all the time and idk how to fix it lol. Thank you for blessing us with this mix. Kudos.

Out of all the genres though my absolute number 1 favorite is Underground Progressive Trance. Nice mix though really enjoy some great Detroit Techno as a resident of Michigan Detroit is some of the best at EDM (IMHO) PERIOD!!!

How is the Allen & Heath Xone:23 Mixer I look to pick one up after my Vinyl DJ Lessons along with a pair of Audio Technica AT-LP120X USB's is that mixer good?
I like the mixer a lot. But it has some quirks that can be a dealbreaker for you. The sound is really nice, as is the feel of the knobs and channelfaders. Best in this pricerange. Very handy high and lowpass filter as well. The channelfaders have an exponential curve. Meaning that the volume gets a lot louder on the last part of fading up. Something i had to get used to after my previous mixer. Which had a linear curve. The crossfader is not so good. Mine has a crackle and it cuts out just before it reaches the end. Not ideal for mixing hiphop. Its replaceable with a innofader. A&H decided to put a -6 db cut on the phono channels. So you need to turn the gain on the phonochannels al the way up to 3 o'clock to get some decent volume. Not an issue with a loud mastered techno record. But it can be annoying playing tracks from an 70s/80s album. Issue can be solved by soldering a piece of metal inside the mixer according to the Xone manual. Not something you do after buying a new mixer. So i can recommend it for mixing house and techno. But keep in mind that it has some weird design decisions.
@@ApolloJeff yeah so I decided to take on Vinyl & CDJ DJ Lessons as I taught myself on a controller for a few years and tbh it gets kinda boring mixing on CDJ’s & a 4 Channel Mixer is amazing and so when I get to the stage of my course and I start to learn Vinyl I will be using 2x Technics SL-1210 MK5’s with Ortofon Pro S Cartridges & either a DJM-850 or DJM-900 Nexus or even a DJM-V10 or Xone:96 depends on what I feel like using for vinyl I am most probably going to use the 96 as since I wanted to buy a Xone:23 it’s worth getting used to the Allen & Heath Mixer Layout for the future and as I am only 19 it makes it so much more fun as this is has been a childhood dream of mine to learn how to DJ with Turntables not including Phase DVS or DVS in general so anyway your mixes are amazing keep them going I love Detroit Techno as I got my influence into that genre from people like Steve Lawler DJ Rush Robert Hood Jeff Mills Josh Wink etc but not just your Detroit Techno mixes I like the House ones too as that’s another one of my favourite Genres 😊

How did you manage to get the top camera view? My flex Tripod for my camera which was mounted to a TV broke today and i looking for a new solution... i make DJ Sets, too..
The action cam is mounted to a (cheap) tripod that's placed horizontally atop of the record cabinet. The one you see infront of the turntables. Secured the tripod at the base with rope and some weights to prevent it from tipping over The image is then rotated 180 degrees in editing. The original shot is upside down. You can also use a stepladder as an alternative. Place that infront of the turntables. Secure the tripod horizontally to the stepladder plateau with rope or elastic cord. Detroit Techno Mix 7 is shot that way. As a tripod alternative, use a rectangular wooden blok as a camera mount. Tape the cam to the end and aim it downwards. It limits the angle at which you can schoot. Some of the mixes with a straight top down view are shot this wat. You can also tape the flex tripod to a block or stick with some gaffer tape and use that. Always secure the tripod/block or stick. Don't want to destroy your camera, mixer and turntables 😁.

I'm also mixing for years now, your skills are nice to watch, precise beatmatching, smooth transitions. How do you record your videos ? Especially the upper camera angle ? Thanks Ouate De Phoque! 🙂 Yeah! Go for it. Its fun to share mixes this way. The top camera and low side camera are Xiaomi Yi's Budget Actions cams from a couple of years back. The other one on the side is my phone on a small tripod. The top Xiaomi Yi is attached to a cheap tripod extended over the mixer. That way you can adjust the viewing angle. Curve it a bit to the turntables. The tripod is secured with some rope and weight plates. Would not advice to buy the Xiaomi Yi. Their app had dissapeard from the appstore to control them. So any decent Action-cam should work. Do pick one where you can adjust the viewing from very wide to a bit more narrow angle. Otherwise you get the fisheye lens effect.
No prob :). Forgot to mention. The Action-cam preverably also a screwhole. That's how you attach it to the tripod. The tripod plate has a little screw sticking out. But you can work around that with tape
@@TheStanley1000 A friend of mine has the same issue with his cartridges. He just put some carbon from a paper pen on the connector and it goes well for months.
