Again, thanks for watching, and have a great day! Happy Railfanning - Розваги
I worked there for 28 yrs, I was there when the Clark avenue bridge was still there. I worked all the different train jobs and raising the bridge over the river sometimes. It's like a ghost town now compared to before with 100's of people around but thru technology it produces about the same amount of steel. More than 80% less humans needed.
Excellent 🔥😁💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😁
Thanks!
I love these yard videos!
Really awesome!👍 Steel Mills and Trains are perfect in the same video, lots of action!
Certainly they are! That railroad is a neat operation
Excellent footage of Switchers in action. Nice to see some ex SP SW1500’s still doing useful service.
Thank you!
Geeze! What a wonderful place to watch switchers, especially if you are a "switcher-guy" like me. I did not think there was a place like that left in (what's left of) industrial America, with tracks running everwhere.Thank you for this video.
You’re welcome!
Great shots!
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing an excellent and very enjoyable video! The MP-15's you are referring to are actually Ex. SP/SSW SW-1500's. Thanks again!
Thanks! I appreciate the info
Man that's crazy! Those guys are zipping up and down the tracks like no-one's business. That one little spot has action left right and center. That was pretty neat!
Thank you! The security and crews were pretty cool with us considering that we were in the middle of a steel mill filming trains
Great video and this was right up my alley with all these Switcher locomotives! That would be an awesome job and get to do all those switching duties. Thanks for sharing this video with us RC along with your time and effort! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
I'm a new subscriber of your channel too!
Thanks man! I really appreciate it! I really am considering taking another trip there to film these guys again
My Dad worked for this company as a supervisor
That’s cool! It was a fun day out there & everyone was really friendly
@rcsrailfaningproductions7418 he told people railfaning to get off the property
Thanks I thought that was an ex southern pacific looking at the number boards. 😊
I’m not sure about the history of these guys- I’ll look into thag
Great footage
Thank You
Love that old bell at 3:23
Old bells are great
Can’t wait !
As a former steel mill employee, I approve of this video.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun filming these little critters working. Which steel mill did you work at?
@@rcsrailfaningproductions7418 I worked at the last fully integrated steel mill west of the Mississippi river. It was in Utah.
@farmerdave7965 oh nice! Did they close or did you retire?
@@rcsrailfaningproductions7418 The plant shut down and was torn down. The salvagable parts were shipped to China so I say that my steel mill and my job were sent to China.
@farmerdave7965 that sucks. Our government needs to keep American jobs in America, not in China where they cut corners with things and their product is crap
I'm surprised they let you film on their property without having a problem with it. Good video
It’s a public road through the steel plant. The security did tell us to stay on the sidewalk, though
I live near granite city steel in illinois. Surprised we arent out of business yet too! Our railroad fleet though is much older. So are the crossings!
Yeah. Hopefully our corrupt administration doesn’t move our steel works to China
Good video
Thanks!
Rather unusual fancy paintskin.
It’s an interesting one for sure. I like the crow on the side, though.
Yeah that was a cool video senior switchers doing their thing would have been nice if they would have been moving more cars though it was just kind of them going around but it was still interesting.
Agreeable. Still cool though, ecpecialy that these locos are retired now
Are they all retired? Have other engines been brought in to replace them, or have rail operations been cut back?
#1555 is a SW 1500.
How come the lights aren’t on on this engine The lower flashing safety lights
Like the yellow lights on a remote controlled unit? Or are you talking about the ditch lights?
It looks like most of the places you went would have been off limits. How did you not get thrown out of there? I see very few places on Google Maps that would offer shots like this without trespassing.
We stood on the sidewalk. The crews and the employees were quite friendly actually. They did not mind us being there. Them and security just told us to stay on the sidewalk
not a Trump fan but, the vids are outstanding
Thanks boss!
too many locomotives doing nothing
They have to run around the plant to switch cars and such
Amazing the democrats still let us make steel here...
Yeah really #trump2024
@@rcsrailfaningproductions7418 I see you support Trump so I subscribed plus I enjoy your videos.
Thanks my man! I support any person that will make America what it was intended to be
I am a Western boy but hope the mideast can rally, so much history there.
@grandcrappy there’s tons of history here, Especially with the steel mills of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Youngstown. It is a shame to see some of them go, but it is still great to have USS Edgar Thompson in Pittsburgh and Cleveland Cliffs in Cleveland and all over the rust belt
