    I no longer own this bike. I found it to be a heavy and sluggish bike. It has been sold to someone else.

    Hi. I've enjoyed your commentary on the Riverside Touring 900. I've had a look at one and am keen to get one. Just wondered if you could comment on a couple of points please? Firstly, does the front light always 'flash/ficker' or can it be set to always on (obviously, I appreciate it turns off after you stop cycling). Also, I noticed with the steering, you can turn the bars approx. 90 degrees to the left whilst, when turning to the right, it doesn't turn anywhere near as far-probably about 60 degrees. I know there is a limiter on the amount of turn of the bars (for stability when on a stand) but I thought, they'd turn equal distance to the left and to the right. The staff in the shop didn't seem to know! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Peter.

      The front light only has a button to turn the lights on or off and the front light flickers when you are riding very slowly. And I can’t say I understand the second question.

      Thanks for getting back to me. Thanks for the info on the front light. Basically, when you steer the bike to the left, the wheel can turn to the point it is 90 degrees to the cycle frame. When the handle bars are turned to the right, they wouldn't turn beyond about 60 degrees. If they makes it any clearer! In other words, you can turn more to the left, than to the right. I don't know if the bike I looked at was just fault?Any input is appreciated. Thanks again.

      I checked my bike and it does have a restriction like you explained. However I don’t see why it matters, I have never needed to steer at such a sharp angle. And it’s a touring bike designed to have pannier bags on the front. So how the bike handles will feel different to a bike with its pannier bags. And in my opinion if you absolutely no intention of using the front rack then it’s not worth buying that bike,the bike is rare to find so leave it for someone else and buy a bike without a front rack.

      @Solitarycycling Thanks for your input. I do intend to use front panniers and am getting the bike. Just thought it strange the way the steering is designed. Decathlon said it was a fault in the bike I looked at and head technician in UK couldn't explain it. I appreciate your looking into it for me. Keep up your vlogs, I've really enjoyed them. Thanks again!

    What front and rear racks are those? I have a Titus Silkroad with the same 3-bolt seat stay mounts but can’t find a rack to fit…

    • @Solitarycycling
      @Solitarycycling  8 місяців тому +1

      They come with the bike. They are part of what makes the bike unique. Unless you can find someone willing to sell the racks without the bike. They are probably impossible to buy separately.

    Hi, I'm new to the channel & have been interested i n the videos I've watched so far. You ride around an area that's not too far from my place so I'm getting ideas for when the warmer weather comes. You've mentioned your Facebook page a couple of times (needing 10 likes?). I've had a search but can't find anything that looks like it could be yours. Please drop a link in here or your next video video description so I (& others) can see what it's all about.
    Cheers👍🏼

    A phone can be fusy, supposedly best charging a battery pack from which you charge the phone. You can get dynamos that work at lower speeds.

      My pedalcell charges phones ok. But the pedalcell is not perfect. Many people have had problems with them.

      I don’t know what is going to happen. Me and Ian are both having problems in real life. The trip may be less than a full week.

      I just don’t have the fitness to keep a good speed up to make that charger work properly. And the bike and panniers are to heavy.
