Fantastic selection of insights from this book. Definitely, the next to read. I specifically liked their final filtering method (Prewiring) to leverage all available perspectives. Really goes to show their commitment to diversity.

Michael speaking of gathering facts you are a shinning example in the use of information you’ve shared with others either through speakers or as you are doing by analyzing the McKinsey Way book.
Today makes the 5th time listening to your powerful analogies.
To your point on fact gathering, I recall a Client Meeting Engagement discussing a project involving workplace security at 21 offices. After ongoing discussions with Client he eventually agreed on a fee that ended with him offering more if needed. Value is derived from gaining as much information possible without drawing conclusions.
Today my practice is a full specialty on everything relative to workplace violence prevention.

Great advice! I intentionally established my consulting firm 21 years ago as a Generalist to grow my brand’s visibility and credibility and attracting Clients as a workplace security management consultant.
After attracting appeal and creating visibility, I gradually converted my services to that of a specialist as an advisor consultant. Using my workplace security experience as a product line, integrated into of my workplace violence prevention consulting product line. I have been specializing ever since.
This segment is probably your best yet for start-up and experienced consultants. Bravo!

Thank you Michael for this very valuable video (as so many others!), highlighting some of the book's key messages. Very clear and useful.
The prewiring / pre-alignment is a practice that is particularly useful beyond consulting, and any employee having to present to several key stakeholders a project or dossier should consider addressing these stakeholders upfront to de-risk, anticipate objections and adjust as needed.
