Just imagine having barely survived The Greatest Show Unearthed and having horrific memories of if, then hearing this music play as you stop, finding yourself unable to move, you cannot even blink. Soon enough, you hear a haunting voice chanting “You barely survived, escaped our last show, once you’re in our grip, we’ll never let you go.”

At first it may seem that the Greatest Show is really returning to hunt down that one child who escaped the first time... but.
With every chorus they remind you how the protagonist wakes up from a nightmare. The dark carnival is not coming back, it's just him and his demons. The experience gave him a psicological trauma that will never truly leave him alone.
The first seconds sound like a broken record player, repeating a distorted version of a once cheerful melody again, again and again...
Mayhaps it is not just trauma? Now, if you'll hear me out, please. The carnival itself has many magical properties. Now, it may be that it is not trauma, but in fact this fearful fair presenting it's notice. The ringmaster is not back yet, but he is coming. Just, another theory. I loved your take on the song, and I would love to discuss further.
The backwards music could also just be another homage to the book that the Greatest Show On Earth is based off of, specifically the merry-go-round that plays its calliope backwards when it spins backwards and also turns its occupants younger by a year for every backward turn
@@ryanw.4983 May you elaborate on what is meant by "Backward"? In the song that is, I'm aware of the carousel in "Something Wicked This Way Comes".
@@pandoraslick1922 the music at the beginning of the song sounds like music played in reverse, and the merry-go-round in _Something Wicked This Way Comes_ plays its music backwards when it spins the wrong way. Because the carousel ages its occupants back when it spins backwards, the song could be using this to exemplify how the boy is remembering his traumatic experience from several years ago.
@@ryanw.4983 It could very well be reverse, but to stem off that idea, and hopefully spark further discussion, could in not also be a distorted record, beginning to play once more after years of dust collecting on it? Representative of some long dead or gone horror coming back to claim it's quarry, or to support the first idea by Arkaix, a memory long buried rising to the surface of someones mind/.
I like to theorize that originally the song was about someone who barely survived "The Greatest Show Unearthed" dealing with the psychological torment of their traumatic memories of that place, finally lured in to going back in reality of their full accord, perhaps this is even how the Greatest Show Unearthed got it's employees/monsters.
The employees are the unearthly ones.

I kinda wish there was a book series based on these songs; the horrors of the first show and only just escaping, then the show finding you again to make you go through everything a second time, but the horrors are even worse.
I mean the first song is based on the novel “Something Wicked This Way Comes”

Anyways. Agreed that'd be like an excellent movie, did well at box office, then they made a sequel to please everyone, didn't had quite as much budget but still nailed it and continued the story flawlessly without changing anything negatively

I still remember the MySpace message you guys sent to me saying that based on my profile I’d like your music......you stalkers weren’t wrong lol. I listened to Greatest Show and bought the album immediately. Hell, I sometimes use names from Gorey Demise for characters in my stories.

The original felt more sadistic, but this one feels more like being haunted by memories, just in tone. Also I dunno what I typed but when I began typing this, something auto corrected to Insanity...
The one and ONLY thing this song was lacking was even a brief appearance of the motif from the original Greatest Show Unearthed.

Everyone will wonder about the Corpse in My Bed, but soon Look to the Skies as aliens approach to learn How to Serve Man. But nothing can compare to the zombies, who can only be defeated if you Aim for the Head. But it'll be too late, most of the humans will perish, and the Meek Shall Inherit the Earth.

Love the great work as always, even from 4 years ago. you never fail to amaze (and horrify) me.
I love love love this! My only critique is that I wish the song was a bit louder and more unrestrained. The vocals are fantastic but I feel like they could have gotten more chaotic, maybe to drive home the narrative that this carnival is far far darker than you could have ever imagined. The whole song just feels a little bit too polished for a circus from Hell. It's still a deliciously creepy song though!

Well there's another side to that coin. A calm, collected, and insane side. Think the G man from half life. (Never heard of it just search him up and see what I mean)

There's many types of crazy, the chaotic messy type is just most popular. There's also a cold, calculating, calm insanity. That's the type I feel they're showing here

This is great song, and I like how it has a kind of roleplay aspect to it, where you can picture what your character was like as a kid in the first song, and then them now as an adult facing off against the circus like IT. Though I wish the song sounded more grainy like the first one did.

1:52 yes. Yes yo do. I had a string of three really bad nightmares all in a row a couple months back and one of them had, guess what song, playing all through it (yes, a certain part of greatest show unearthed), I only recently started listening to them again XD I’m so excited that I’m HERE for this for once (2 days late is better than years late)

You have no idea how happy this makes me. When The Greatest Show Unearthed came out I couldn't buy online as I was 14 so I got a local CD shop to order it in for me, I had it on repeat for weeks. 11 years later you bring out a sequel, can't wait for the album.

A little late but I've returned.
I gotta say that after many years since the first album came out and I had got my copy I have held on to it all this time but have delved so deep into extreme metal music that the album had kinda collected some dust at the back of an ever growing collection. Anyway I recently re listened to the greatest show unearthed for some old nostalgic kicks. Now that I have checked out their newer stuff I find it is really good and a bit refreshing for some change of pace at times. Cheers to Creature Feature for always providing catchy quirky humorous songs that even a complete metal maniac like myself can stop and appreciate.
