I carry the 20L Osprey daylight backpack, but its not perfect for EDC. I took off the chest strap, and tied the waist strap out of the way. in addition to my COVID mask pouch and tool pouch, I also carry a 5000 mah battery and short USB C cable, a travel toothbrush, some naproxen and benedryl, a button compass, and $150.00 in cash (incl. $2.00 in quarters). I also usually carry a leather "slapper" for self defense (not exactly legal, but you could call it a "change purse"). Its easy to carry too much crap, so I try to avoid overloading it. If I'm with my wife and we're walking a bit, her purse usually goes in there also!
Just ordered a SUPCASE case for my phone! Let's see how it will hold up, great video.
Something i've found really usefull to my backpack carry it's a rain jacket and a rain cover for the backpack itself, i know you probably have one of this in your office or your truck but sometimes it comes in handy, especially if you're carrying electronic gear. Just a recomendation. Love the new backpack.

Great video. Smaller bag helps minimize, which is a plus. I find the bigger bag I carry or have then I feel like I need to put more stuff in it.

Love love love this bag. Perfect size for me. Perfect color for me (foliage). Perfect design. The Rip Ruck opening design rocks, and I love how fast I'm in and out of it. Goodbye Patagonia Atom.
NOTE: you can fit a large laptop in this bag. I can fit my MacBook Pro 16 and still secure it with the velcro keeper. There's still room in the other filer space for books, magazines, and other things.

I love seeing EDC loadouts and enjoy your content! But I've honestly never carried anything more then my wallet, phone and keys. All this extra stuff people have to carry with them just seems really cumbersome to always have with you.
Mystery ranch makes great stuff and they seem to be legitimately interested in innovating and making new designs to fit different purposes. Made in my home state too.
Personally, I would never have a use for a full size backpack. I prefer fanny packs or sling bags since they are the perfect size to hold only what I need and nothing I don't.

I'm in the same boat my bag starts light but ends up 50lbs with like 50 USB cables and other shit
Since retiring I've been walking my dog a lot. He's a big furry critter and requires water. During the summer I can go through a gallon for him, both letting him drink and soaking him down. So the first thing in the pack is 5 quarts of water. Second, a small first aid kit including bandaids, tape, mylar blanket. Then weather appropriate space socks, hat, bandana, scarf, gloves. Then shoelaces, some cord, and two straps for sometimes picking up yard sale stuff and tying it to the pack. There's a pocket knife on the one side of the sternum strap, a container that holds dog crap bags on the other side of the strap. And because sometimes we leave town, there's a compass, a notebook and pen. There's a spare 20 foot leash for letting him go in the water and a wrench multitool. Also, some dog treats and spare dog crap bags. In one side pocket a poncho, in the other side pocket a flashlight that doubles as a small club. Finally, because this is America, in a shoulder holster a sidearm and spare magazine and on the belt, a phone and kubotan.
The pack is a Fieldline Pro Series Treeline. It measures just under 20 liters, two deep pockets, two small pockets, two side pockets It has padded shoulder straps, plain sternum and waist strap. Some molle on the back and compression straps on the side. It has been worn just about every day for two years and has held up well. It is comfortable and convenient.
Since starting this 27 months ago we've covered almost 2,000 miles and I'm down 70 pounds, my A1c, blood pressure and other medical stuff is all in the normal range. Although when I first started some people thought I was a homeless person walking through town. This year we'll hit 900 miles, next year I'm gonna shoot for 1,000. I am looking at 40 liter bags just to add weight for the walk.

Wish I saw this when I bought my tablet, I love the subtle front pocket! You should tie the zipper tags together with paracord or something, so you can just pull that to zip close...

I have an old mystery ranch bag and it is one of the highest quality backpacks I've ever seen but my everyday carry backpack is the osprey Manta I believe 24 or 26 liter and it is probably one of the best backpacks out there in my opinion
I wear a long tail pocket T from Duluth Trading. I have no other T's. The problem was that when the pocket T's all got dirty, I started wearing the pocketless T's and left the pocket items at home. Now, I just wear dirty pocket T's till I get around to running laundry. in the pocket I carry my monthly Daytimer, click pen so I can write with one hand full, micro reading glasses and iPhone 10 ProMax.
Front left jeans pocket Bic lighter, Hot Pocket warmer, small light. Right front jeans pocket keys on a very big ring, car feb and key. On big key ring squeeze light, very small key knife. Nylon flight jacket LF pocket iPhone charger, energy phone battery, RF pocket fork, spoon, napkins, flashlight, Bic lighter. Two inside pockets 2 folded handkerchiefs each, paper with my phone number, Sleeve pocket P-38, floss, safety pin, large paper clip, small bag of dryer lint with Vaseline, Tylenol, Claritin. Just sayin.
I just purchased a Carhartt Deluxe work pack for my EDC- I still may have to snag one of these in the brown to take on my hikes!

Have you tried a Vertex bag, Mystery Ranch stuff is great and also you need to look at write in the rain note pad.
I watched Hobo Shoestring get on a box car with a 2 1/2 gallon container of water. I was blown away. I figured a quart canteen or two would cover me. So I bought a collapsable Coleman 5 gallon water jug. I can fill it up and eventually run it thru my Grayal Water filter.

All jokes aside but did u ever consider getting together with a designer and making ur own? I personally think there is no such thing as a perfect bag, Ideal, suitable maybe but not perfect just like basic edc in general its always changing ( new and inproved items contribute to that change) just like our needs.

My pants are my bag, and I don't carry much in them at that, and what I do carry is lightweight and generally minimalistic. I often have a fountain pen of some kind clipped to my Polo shirt collar. I eschew the idea of carrying bags to carry my stuff. I don't want the extra weight/bulk. Knife, light, lighter, tissues, wallet, keys is enough for me. Hat on my head along with sunglasses. Maybe watch on my wrist. Iphone in a front pocket.
I'm no expert here, but I'm pretty sure you need some more knives in your bag.

You know what they say better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it personally I just have a bag i leave in my car my edc consists of my gun a wallet and a pocket knife pretty simple
Its really just a matter of being in the "in" crowd. Its more about saying you "have" stuff than really needing the stuff. Everything has its purpose but honestly 90% of what most people in the EDC community carry will never get used. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely an EDC junky but I remember the days when the only additional thing you had in addition to keys, watch and a phone was a knife.

I came to realize that they show all this for you to see what you like and suits your need, maybe yo don’t need all that stuff, but you like the backpack, so you go and buy the bag, later you see a new wallet and go and buy the wallet

My EDC is car key, motorcycle key, wallet, phone, and house keys

And pick and choose what i feel will suit me and like

I love this video, I would love to see you review more bags for EDC. I have tried carrying an EDC backpack before Calla but often get remarks of how it's a man purse, and so I just tried to shove everything back in my pockets. I'm wondering what you're feelings are on this

What do you do with bags youve used and dont like.
Look for Micro-to-USB-C adaptors. Not always perfect for data transfer (depends upon cable, but never has USB-C speed), but they're great for power connectivity. 4-Pack costs under $12 on Amazon.

Strongly recommend a TQ at a minimum and a trauma kit. Regardless of carrying a firearm. Car crash victims, active shooter scenarios, and even just simple accidents in the garage or kitchen. Obviously you need to be trained and confident with the equipment. 👍🏻👍🏻
