  • If you have trouble being motivated to work out, take your inspiration from Christina Goyette. The 38-year-old pumps iron every day after being paralyzed for eight weeks due to a stroke. Christina says, "Renown helped me tremendously! Their staff always gave me hope that I would make it-that I would walk, talk, and eat again." She is determined to get full movement back on the left side of her body. She is truly an inspiration.

Just had a stroke 16th of July 2021
Could not talk and i lost the use of my right leg.
    I am 63 .
I was a month in hospital.
7 weeks at home then I returned to work .
It is only now that I feel that i beginning to feel better about myself and my future.
    The stroke was terrifying.
I thought this was It for me.
I spent the majority of my time at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth , Western Australia.
I have nothing but praise for the nursing staff and especially the Occupational physiotherapists who made sure I could become myself again
Your story has given me the strength I need to continue
    God bless you

I survived 4 strokes, full body paralysis, 10 day coma, I recently went and earned my commercial drivers license, now im going to get fit, and be motivated to get my body back to normal as well. Its a long process, but to be a former professional bowler to now not being able to walk normal is so frustrating. I've decided being single for 4 years sucks, i'm gonna kick this in the ass, good on u i'm so incredibly proud of ur determination. I am also 38 years old, this shit is for the birds, lets show this world how tough us stroke survivors can be sweetheart. Keep it up so proud of u!!!!

How severe were your strokes? My best friend had a stroke 2 years ago at 35 years old. She lost the ability to walk and talk and was relearning everything thro speech and physical therapy and was told she could make a full recovery. During this recovery process, she had a second stroke and it really did her in and I’m now told she won’t be able to recover. She can now only say 3 words and needs round the clock care. I’m beyond devastated that she will have to live out the rest of her life like this as she is the best person I know. I’m praying for a miracle that she will be able to gain some sense of independence in the future, but I just don’t know how these things play out.

Inspiration!! I had a stroke 10 years ago at 17 it’s was a massive adjustment, paralysed on my right side and was going okay 2 years after not doing enough, I know. Then at 19 I had testicular cancer and I drunk heavily for 2 years. 5 years all clear from cancer went to Spain for 7 months, read lots and learned Spanish which I believe helps if you have speech problems but just a theory, doesn’t have to be Spanish but helped my English I think.
Now 3 years on I’m travelling South America still got right sided weakness but I’m going to parks to do pull-ups, chin ups, one legged squats and press ups which I love doing. Recently started using my right hand/arm for as much as possible it’s been a very long, life changing journey but I enjoy it. I hiked a 3000m snowy volcano super difficult but made it, and it felt amazing.
Anyone going through a similar thing good luck and aim at an ideal version of yourself.
I’m currently reading stronger after a stroke and this book is amazing and an essential for the best recovery.

We were able to get her to the hospital within an hour of it happening. Just had MRI today and they found another clot near her brain stem, not sure what to expect now going forward, but this video gave me hope for people who have had a stroke.

I would love for her to eat a high protein diet and put on muscle mass... she was in hospital for over a month. she probably lost a lot of muscle mass during that time. she's 67. I'm worried about her getting sarcopenia too... it's probably already set in. she doesn't think she can do it though and thinks she will be on blood pressure medications her entire life. I wish I could change her mind but I can't force her to do it... it's depressing knowing if she doesn't make positive changes soon, she will go downhill...

I survived 5 simultaneous strokes. You can’t see any physical damage (face droopy or slurred speech) however, I have short term memory loss, blind from the top vision, R hand numbness and short tempered (my family and friends tell me that lol) I don’t feel like it is so, but who am I to know what the others see. I had ran about 3 miles or 4 and had just taken a shower when I began to vomit. Thankfully, I worked in the ER and lived a block away. My coworkers/friends found me and took me to the ED. It's been 19 months & I still have 2 spots that are numb, my left chest & right hip & armpit. It used to be the left side & right hip & foot. I still feel pain in those numb areas, weird it's more sensitive to pain now. I just get tired real easy. I'm sure in time that will improve too.

@@ibromakanaki8266 I know my feet were very sensitive to touch at first. My daughter's would massage my feet in the hospital and they would hurt easily. I remover I drop an Almond on my foot and it hurt. But that's all gone now. Just waiting for these last 2 parts. I think if it tingles or something like that it means it's healing.

I couldn't hear properly because of the unnecessary background noise. Couldn't watch.
