    A very interesting and informative discussion.....however deep and meaningful conversations are needed so that the HR department can hire people who can strategise so that businesses or companies can change and overcome the deteriorating economic crisis prevailing in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

    I am a statistician, Memory's conclusions are all based on facts. The way he directs a fact to hypothetic conclusion tells it all. There is a weak correlation between variables 😃,there are no significant differences between age generation whether 2000s or latter ages. Chibaba ichi

    The discussion was top notch , engaging and inspiring .Memory came through with the modern day thinking for the future . I marveled at the way he demonstrated depth of the HR discipline with evidence based on scientific research . He shared a lot of literature and authorities on the same. Well read. Denying to the Grave ...Leadership derailment...Science for work and a lot more . What more ! Am impressed . Thank you Trevor and Memory.

    Pyschological safety ~ that example took me back to my days working as a civil servant. Most of the internal meetings I attended would basically be a source of so many private conversations in the corridors. The rot we see in the public sector can be tied to this, many times people would say yes to everything their principal would suggest, regardless how bizarre it was. Few of those that disagreed with their principals without any challenges, you could see they had some unique skill. Not surprising at all because when it comes with the territory, especially when working with politicians. It takes a different skill to amicably disagree with your principal without disturbing the apple cart. I would say, it’s that skill that most civil servants require training to develop and strengthen.

    Well discussed topic. Thanks Trevor and Memory for this informative discussion that is premised best practices founded on evidence! Memory busted most of the HR practices that have costed many people jobs they deserved. However, I hold a different view on the home office vs work office. African's have already been deny this privilege and COVID showed us different options for us. Flexi-hours at home and office is the future of work. Industrialization thrived on office and plant work - its under threat from the new e-commerce. I believe the internet is changing things. Knowledge - the ability to think and find solutions is the core competency, not an office or position one has held.

    Let me confess, I was writing a discussion paper on innovation and i wanted to express a concept where the organisation creates an environment where employees are not afraid to bring their ideas. I searched all Trevor's video. I remembered the face of Mukoma Memory. I clicked and there he is he spoe about psychological safety. I went to the book, cited the author and there i have a quality discussion paper. Thank you Trevor, Memory and Amy C. Edmondson for bringing the aspect of PS to the world.

    Some key takeaway points for me that I can relate with;
    1. Psychological safety - Its importance and usefulness towards organisational progress.
    Intellectual
    3. Personality and Integrity - Their linkage and how these are taught at a young age.
    4. Friendship and Mentorship - The importance
    5 . and Finally when you starting something be it a business or anything else, go in with a passion.
    Indeed some useful insights from this discussion. I recommend all HR practitioners to watch and head of companies to consult with MN.

    A great conversation! What a way to start a year. I learnt physcological safety which is a great thing if organisations are to survive. I however disagree on the experience and intergrity issue. Experience really shape us, I am not the same employee as I was on my first job. I learnt a lot, I am in the process of being fine-tuned to be the best. I however don't support those 10yrs experience what what it should be reasonable. Like he said for someone to be a physcologist one needs to be registered and have sufficient qualifications the same is needed in positions of influence, a degree holder can't just run a big organisation, experience, personality and qualifications make great leaders. Thank you Memory!

    Fully agree. HR people should have the knowledge, skill & competences to run the business through the use of the productive capacities of the organisation's human resources - from the Board right through to the lowest levels - hence HR operates at the strategic level and coordinates efforts towards the attainment of the vision
