Tony; my wife and I are in our last week of Viet Nam. I had never even heard of you when you left us. But then I watched your whole show. And then I convinced my wife to come here for 3 weeks. And now I miss you partly because you influenced my life in a big way. Each day at some point, unusual food and challenges were placed in front me. And for me to not freak out, I channeled my inner Tony Bourdain to find the courage to take the bite, walk the street, go into the store. Tears are trying to come as I think how much the world needs as many Tony’s as it can possible get and I am sad that you are not here so I can say thank you.
I'm a professional cook. And every morning I listen to Anthony Bourdain interviews or his audio book when Im prepping in the am.
I am finishing listening to Medium Raw- excellent and insightful. I also have listened to Kitchen Confidental wonderful book
"A country is not necessarily it's government" that's probably true of almost every country in the world. Certainly true about America.
Especially now
One of the saddest losses in my lifetime. A true statesman and a very real and honest man. The world has lost a gem.
This is right up there with the loss of Randy Rhoads for me. But suicide? I'm freaking out about it.
I agree with you about losing Anthony. He was a hero to me and I never expected that to happen. My heroes are people that leave a huge impression on my life - the Beatles, David Letterman, the Sopranos and Bourdain. It may sound wierd, but those people made a huge impact on my life. Tony, thank you for your teaching me about the whole world in amazing, unifying ways through food, fun and your fantastic story telling.
Trump 2020
He is my hero...its his birthday today...and I miss him dearly
@@uncleruckus3930 How did that turn out...back under your rock Rusty.
Anthony Bourdain,
I never got to meet your personally. But I did get to watch alot of your shows. U seems like such a neat, intelligent talented, pretty guy.
With your show and with your talent. U have given us such a gift as for your daughter as well.
U MY FRIEND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN 💓
a lot*
@@rfrantzt Even though he'll never "read" it it's important for the one who wrote it to state these facts and thus address his own emotions for the person whose influence and charisma he experienced thru that person's work. That's because people are always prepared and willing to learn, even out of school, when there's someone who can teach them things and thus expand their views and understanding of life and the world.
Anthony Bourdain is a true world global man who knows cultures, food and politics without boundaries and restrictions we will missed him so much for his untimely passing.....
It's so weird to miss someone I never met. I just always enjoyed watched everything he was in.
I really miss Mr. Bourdain one of the most humble and genuine people ever.
Oh man, I loved this guy. He was so down to earth and witty. RIP Tony.
I miss Bourdain. I miss his storytelling. I miss his perspective and honesty. As a fellow traveler, he's opened up the world and turn down walls. There are many classic actors/celebrities who I have admired. Upon their passing, I reflect and wish them peace. But Bourdain's passing has lingered.
his passing has lingered for me too. I am going to Hanoi next year to find that restaurant
I truly miss him.......no one like him on tv. Brutally honest, real......full of flaws, not perfect, not pretending to be.
Tony was starting to look stressed out and depressed. He was not where he wanted to be at this time. I just wish he had gotten help and not given up. He was so gifted as a chef, a writer and as a human being. My heart breaks for him.
Very shocking news today, June 8, 2018 that Anthony has left us. I suppose one never really knows the inner workings of others. RIP Mr. Bourdain...You were a pleasure to the world.
Amen rip Anthony
such a profound speaker i am going to miss this man. Wish i could understand what was going through his mind, and in a way i think i can.
We all can, considering that he wore his heart on his sleeve.
I read his book Kitchen Confidential recently and that made me miss this guy even more.
He was a guy who knew his way with words and usually showed people and places that otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to be known by the general public.
Ah christ Tony, I wish you just thought one more time about how loved and respected you were. We miss you a more than you know man...
RIP Anthony. You will be dearly missed.
Anyone who eats steak well done is Not a person who can be respected.
instant loss of trust
Why ,
@@awaken7684 Then your mother is not to be respected!
@@lorettaduran2726 Because the person doesn't understand quality!
Personal choice. Got a problem wit dat? Huh?
Gone far too soon. RIP.
Whatever this man was going through in his personal life to end up doing what he did must be something none of us could ever handle if it hit us too man , it's sad.
Eloquent ruggedness. A true humanist. Wish Tony was still showing us the world and the people that makes this home beautiful, some times tragic and everything in between
I Just love how raw and honest He was to us .
The best tell you exactly what is in their heart, with zero bullshit.
When I found out at 5:30 in the morning I weeped on my back patio. Prayers are with his family. God bless
That pic of Anthony and his daughter holding the knives. Beautiful
He is so graceful and tactful. Amazing man , why do these reporters like to regenerate his past drug use. It's been addressed so many times. Move on please.
He is missed ...RIP Tony!
The most inspiring travel rock star ever .. miss this dude every Sunday !
Anthony (Tony) Bourdain is absolutely the most cogent person I don't know. I need to see more from this guy because everything he does is great entrtainment., at least

Great Man, R.I.P
You were a great man it was very enjoyable
From Iran with love rip
He was and still is a heatbreak to me. I will always say he is one of the biggest influences in my life and my ideal
"Dream Job" Love you Tony. See you on the other side.
Nah man, you'll see him on your next turn on this planet. It will be a different time and a different place, but the same man.
Almost one year has passed and your loss is still devasting.
I can't believe we lost him.
I there with ya' man. I don't get it. Yea, he had a melancholic kind of personality sometimes but he _said_ he was happy. Talked about his kid a lot. I'm having a hard time with it.
Rest In Power! He was Steve McQueen Cool!
"Steve McQueen Cool" :)🤘
Still hard to believe he is gone. R I P. you were 1 of those people who made this world a better place
Still thinking of how awesome he was, RIP Mr Bourdain 😢
Loved Bourdain.......still shocked till this day. RIP and thank you.
RIP.
Wow watching this makes me sad, this smart and very talented men finish his own life, depression and mental illness are real, we need God so much not matter who we are...
YEIYEI78 he was killed.
what a sad pathetic person you are.
For not knowing him personally it ripped my heart open when he felt it necessary to leave. I know I am not alone, I still mourn. It brings back so many grief stricken times in my life and stirs them up into a pot of tears and overwhelmingly sarrow. Sometimes I still feel the shock. Sometimes I expect him to grace my tv with a new show..done yesterday.
I never heard of Anthony until his passing unfortunately, but lord I missed out. I love watching his videos ♥️ rip your soul shines so bright ♥️
R.I.P a true idol I will always remember. One of my main motivations of why I love the kitchen.
Great writer. Just makes it all clear and authentic and no pretense.
The tears flow even today, What a loss on humanity. RIP Tony.
Kudos Mr. Bourdain!!
Anthony is amaze! I learned alot from his travels.
Except a lot
very down to earth guy
SwiftJukesSucks he's burning in hell now
Hell is on Earth.
We all miss you. RIP Anthony Bourdain
He is so articulate and a very gifted person. I miss him-the Goat.
I admire u so much..i would have loved to have known you...you are missed!
RIP Tony. Great storyteller.
We can all change our perspective, it comes with maturity sometimes.
I'm so heartbroken to have lost Anthony. He didn't know me, but I feel like I knew him. I feel that I have lost a friend. I cannot believe he is gone... His loss is deeply felt
Never forget!!!
Rejected and alienated by and from your daughter. 4:40 That must have been incredibly painful, though he laughed it off here.
I miss him terribly
Rest in peace dear Anthony. You will never be forgotten and peace to your heartbroken family.
You Are My Hero, Rest In Peace Sir Anthony Bourdain!
I think I knew the world because of him. I was really sad when he left us. But if you had seen his shows, you could feel he wasn't very happy anymore, you could feel that sometiing was eatimg him up deep inside. Maybe he thought it was his time. Such a great guy who showed a lot of us the WORLD and his World.
his eyes
This interviewer was very good. She was calm & careful with her questions. She made it easy for Tony to give open, honest, detailed answers.
RIP Anthony
RIP Sir
enjoyable watch.. rip
I have been a fan since he was on the food network. I miss him.
His joie de vie was readily apparent. I miss him.
Antony bourden tribute for you best chef . Foods vietna is good malasia . Is the best thank you very much
That sound byte of him talking about his addiction and talking about his daughter was so moving. It really makes no sense that he decided to do what he did. I’m truly still reeling from the shock and surrealness of it all.
Sadly it makes absolute sense. Tony was a romantic to the heart, very vulnerable. And Asia was in contrast hardcore and always going to be wearing the trousers in the relationship. Combine this with a 20 year age gap, a self confessed narcissism in Tony, and a huge unexpected life shift to the cooler parties, when his primal fears of clowns and carnivals still made decisions for him. A moment of madness is inev it
A great human being
The last half of this interview is heartbreaking. I often make fun of people upset with celebrity deaths but now I understand
grande persona, che la terra ti sia lieve
I miss this guy
Tony, I miss You !!
It’s as if he aged overnight. Hindsight is always 20/20, and towards the end he just didn’t look himself. Saying all that I’m still shocked.
I often wonder if he'd still be with us had he quit or even slowed down. It seems like he just burned out. 🙏RIP
Still miss you so much 💔💔
I can’t stop crying for him
Really?
💙💙💙
God bless your soul finally free😞
Depression kills...pls get help!
I remember hearing the sad news and also Kate Spade in the same month. A month later I lost my sister to suicide and a cousin of ours who came to mourn at the funeral went away afterwards and jumped of a cliff. In our house alone we have had an aunt, sister and 3 cousins and brother in law all to suicide. Nuts but depressing doesn't care about background, status, religion or otherwise. God bless them all.
I’m sorry I am not an optimistic the fact that Weinstein and Epstein and all of their disgusting “lives” were starting to be talked about publicly By influential public people (who are absolutely adored)
And a lot of these people who were vocal about this abuse have committed suicide
highly suspect to me
RIP CHEF. Love.
Really miss this fella
This is the second time I've heard his disdain for people that eat steak well done. Duly noted Mr Bourdain, you're highly respected in my book and I will TRY to stop, lol. And thank you for calling out people that don't try different foods and eating with different eating utensils.
4:49 so sad 😔
So interesting on any subject and eloquent and missed massively by me.
An American inspiration. RIP.
admirable guy.
RIP Mr. Bourdain. You are sadly missed by many.
Goodness, I miss this man! He was such a breath of fresh air. I have been lucky to travel to 50+ countries but never saw myself ever going to the Middle East. We just got back from Oman (and the U.A.E) and it was because of Anthony Bourdain. Somehow, he made me feel safe to cross that bridge.......Oman was such an amazing experience. People, Coastline, Mountains.
I was in Iran too, loved it
I know why I loved him
Mr.Bourdain we gonna miss you forever😢😢😢😢😢😢
Such a great interview, she just let the guy talk. Such a sad loss.
Damn, I really miss this guy.
He worried about what his daughter would think of this history as a heroin addict. And the he killed himself. He must have been horribly tortured, internally.
Miss you Tony. My god.
The world is a bit different these days.... missing your outlooks and analysis about life and food.
Who's the reporter?
Gosh i miss this guy
I miss him.
