  • Mo Rocca meets Copenhagen's top chef, Rene Redzepi. He has no reality show, no outpost in Las Vegas -- only one small restaurant called Noma that's known for its food. Find out what's behind some of his more creative, resourceful dishes that are always locally-sourced.

    Redzepi and Nilsson are the best in my eyes. Really in touch with their environment and culture, not the augmented reality mist folks live in. It about the food and experience. Real chefs.

      Anthony Bottari. Wrong. I've been a chef for 11 years. I'm not Michelin but I have 6/10 on good food and run a AA Rosette kitchen. He is useless. He steals ideas and then charges ridiculous prices. Even Heston is better lol.

      Always nice when a non-michelin chef calls a michelin chef with the title of best restaurant 3 years in a row, useless. I bet you are 1 of those who prides his restaurant, but your food probably tastes like rat piss.

    Thanks. Are you the same chef we met at the first taverna opa? I had the idea with the ants but I didn't realize that they'd be eaten.

    His recipes are mostly in the use of wild herbs, plants. But I'm still wondering how the hell he could get 3 Michelin stars because of that! o.O

      +Josiah Dave Guess the food tastes amazing.

      +Josiah Dave I believe it's because of his innovative take on flavor. His never ending search to create a dish from sources never tired in the western world. His concepts that aren't being done anywhere else. Anyone can make a steak or a piece of salmon, but can they create something from the simplest ingredient like a rose petal. He sells complete books worth of flavors and memories with his food. That's why I believe he has 3 stars :)

    • @metouw
      @metouw 8 років тому

      +Josiah Dave Well.. Noma never received 3 stars, "only" 2. But yeah, it is ironic that the, back then, worlds best restaurant wasn't able to get the maximum of michelin stars. I guess it's not the same people who's deciding that.

    • @denmark39

      he never got 3... just 2. Noma was the nr 1 restaurant but only 2 stars

    1:06 no it isn't the danish word for Nordic food it is the contraction of the words it's the same with Lego. Here is what they have done (lego the contraction of play good would in english be = plgo Nordic food = Nofo) In danish Nordisk mad = Noma. Leg godt = lego

    • @jizy73
      @jizy73 9 років тому

      PCMARCHANTE i hardly doubt that they play rock in the kitchen. due to several experiments classic instrumental and instrumental music in general have been proven to increase your focus while working/studying. also soft tunes score higher than, you know, the rusty distorted tunes of rock

    this is funny,I saw his food in Anthony Bourdain show,every grandma in my country is as much 'good' as him with hisfood. People nowadays are so strange,they think they eat something amazing by eating simple bread with butter and herring,I don't even talk about moss and nasturtium..

    • @ArticHood
      @ArticHood 8 років тому +10

      +raudonasaule I think that's a bold and very ignorant statement from someone who hasn't tried his food. I'm sure you don't even know a quarter of the stuff on his menu.

    I'm surprised Noma is so famous now. I mean, their dishes are nowhere near as interesting sounding and looking as something like the molecular style of El Bulli.
    Quite a few of their dishes just seem like a few clams with some greens sprinkled on top.
    Even the ants seem quite... simple, in a way.

    God of pretentious taste samples!... not of food. i wouldn't call this food, since no one in their right mind would cook this for dinner for their families at home.

      CT2507 ah yes, i watch fine dining videos to complain that they aren't making hamburger helper in their world class restaurants
