I found this show by accident literally through youtube recommending me the trailer and tbh I wasn’t expecting anything? I haven’t read the book, I don’t care for the 70s or pseudo documentaries, but it seems like this year I fall in love with shows I least expect to. I loved it.
I loved the music, I loved the characters even though most of them aren’t good people (honestly, I can’t even call Daisy a good person, and definitely not Billy for stringing her along for so long). But OH MY GOD THE CHEMISTRY. I loved their rivalry when they very getting at each other through writing songs. I loved the soft moments. The scenes in the shower and in the hallway had me absolutely screaming at how good Sam and Riley’s chemistry and acting is I’m just aaaah. I never thought I’d be shipping something involving cheating, especially where the spouse is far less problematic than characters in the ship, but it’s just impossible not to ship these two.
idk if the ending was the same in the book though, but it felt weird to me that Camila pushed them towards each other after she died? Especially by Julia’s hands. Daisy and Billy didn’t feel like a ship that needed to be endgame, they were definitely messy and toxic and beautiful and yes, I could see them maybe working in the future, but the push the got felt very weird to me, is all.

I only watched the first 3 episodes. Then I bought and read the book. From watching the videos, the series strays from the book. In the book Billy did nothing with Daisy. He stayed true to his wife and family.
