    The dude helping his older neighbor reminds me of the situation I was in. I was 12 when my family moved next door to her. I started doing chores for her animals before turning 13. I always joked with every gf that she was gonna give me the farm some day. Well I'm now 36 and have lived in the farm she basically gave me for 2 years now 😂. She turned into family

    Josh, in my opinion you're young enough to tell your parents your neighbor makes you feel uncomfortable and for them to tell her to stop talking to you. You also have every right to say "No, I just don't want to do it anymore". You don't owe her a reason. If she makes you feel uncomfortable or like she is asking you to do something you don't want to do it's harassment.

      @@coleBlap I think sometimes we treat male discomfort with a blind eye where we'd treat female discomfort with some respect. But the reality is, if you don't want something, you don't want it, and dudes should have the same rights there as chicks do.
      Edit: I got to that part, and yeah, it's serious. That's almost pushing the line to s. harassment. At least, that's how I see it as a s exual health doctor. At the very least, she's using him as free labor in a pretty un-cool way. As a sidenote, it's also super anti-feminist for a woman to be abusing/using a dude that way, without equal exchange, like she's this distressed damsel. Woman up, lady.

    When people live together, ALWAYS have an exit strategy. This can mean 1) end of a lease, 2) a set maximum time for a family/friend to use the guest room, 3) a kid finishing HS and moving off to college, etc... This is for the benefit of everybody. Go in with the exit strategy in place, and you can much more easily avoid hurting relationships.

    I leave my Christmas tree up until 01/17/2024 - my Mom's birthday. Also my nativity set is still up. My grandson loves to play with it. At church Jesus wasn't in his manger (the week prior to Christmas) and my 4 year old grandson went up to the life size Nativity and wanted to know why Jesus wasn't in there yet. The church puts it in on Christmas Eve. He was so adorable.

    Rather than a "shower schedule", fake or not, say you want some time to hang out around your area of the house naked. Everyone enjoys some level of nakedness to relax. Heck, you can ask them if they want you to return the favor and avoid certain times.
    Likewise, you could fall asleep naked on the couch one day. They walk in, feel awkward and leave, and then they begin to knock more or avoid sometimes. Best of all, you were asleep, so you dont even need to feel awkward.

      @daniellebrackett4905 And the parents answers to any questions need to be: none of your business; and, stay away from my kid. I feel for this kid, too. Similar situation for me when I was that age, 12-14, and the neighbor kept being inappropriate and trying to escalate. Felt very unsafe. Really good advice for the kid to direct this person to his parents. If the parents don't know, they need to know.

    The first guy needs to move - he may be paying less for rent vs. his original mtg. but he does not have any type of investment in home property. He's just paying for the in-laws mortgage. This seems so unhealthy to me that they are "together" so much. Why would you want to live like this? Constant irritation. I can see this predicament on a family vacation home but an actual family "all year" home is not good! I'm just cringing listening to this conversation. There should be no "my family time." You need your own home! Don't even build on this property! Leave the Tom Cruise family and move out now!

    • @becominghero9754
      @becominghero9754 8 місяців тому +1

      It can be cultural--saying it's "not good" is a little bit overly moral. A lot of Latino families, and a lot of communes in certain African countries, just kind of naturally fall into these kinds of patterns. I personally live with in-laws, but we have very firm boundaries. I have double locks on the door, and don't eat with them. When we want to hang out, we hang out. It's more like being neighbors in an apartment.
      You just have to set boundaries. But it's really lovely to be able to just walk over and do things together, just like in old villages and small town neighborhoods.
