Dam another person who just slams a battery to it without pulling spark plug and lubing dry old cylinder or doing slow hand turning the crank. I'm 80 years old and been resurecting old machines since I was a kid and ALLWAYS drain.durty old oil and all that has settled into the sump. Hand massage the motor over to break the sticky ring on the compression rings to ease it to loosen up. Also pull the starter motor off and pull all the hardened grease off the bendix and loosen all up. Then test to see if it"l turn or need brushes. If you want to rescue it be gentle. Clean and lube everything go through fuel and points and mag. Only spin it over with no spark plug to loosen all up and wake the old seals. Test torque head bolts and all else. Then spin it to look for spark. Check and set timing. Then add oil gas and choke and open throttle to see if it wants to wake up. You can literally tear up a potentially good engine by just slamming a big battery on it shocking it out of it's sleep. If it's worth restoring it's worth doing it right. Every one of the stories I see starts by just throwing a battery at it. Wrong.A stuck ring or gummed up valve stem can interfere with rotation... Just do it right. Dandahermit.
Looks like seat is not very old so it must have ran in last 10 years From the looks of battery terminal I think it may have a serious electrical problem
The green in the carb is from the Ethanol in the pump gas thr previous owner used. Buy Ethanol Free gas for all your small engines. You won't need to buy any fuel stabilizer to add anymore. It won't be needed! I've been running Ethanol Free fuel in my tractors for the last 8 years and haven't rebuilt one carb since. It's worth every penny.
Interesting video but, bad filmography. You know what the viewer wants to see and you make a good effort to effort to show them but, all the moving around and trying to do things one-handed, makes for a poor viewing experience. A combination of holding the camera in hand for the detailed views and tripod mounted camera shots for everything else should work better. You're pretty good at this. Get yourself a decent tripod.
I just picked up a '76 IH 1200, can't wait to do what you taught me, thanks !!! They will never make 'em like this again, these are the good ones.
I can't watch this anymore. Poor tractor.😢😮😮😮
Nice buy, now time for restoration
