Info: Institutions across Canada and abroad have developed their own approaches to addressing anesthesiology human resource challenges. These include innovative care provider models (such as anesthesia care teams) and novel anesthesia support models to improve the efficiency of the anesthesiology workflow. During the first half of this session, Dr. Mateen Raazi and Dr. Sylvie Aucoin will first describe traditional anesthesia care provider models, as well as the variability in healthcare providers who provide assistance for anesthesiologists across Canada and abroad. The second half will focus on the innovative models that have either been implemented or are being considered to optimize anesthesiology workflow and enhance delivery of surgical services. This interactive session will be an opportunity for attendees to learn from their colleagues’ experiences and potentially advocate for resources for local implementation.
