So nice!!! I miss the times I could go to the beach. I can't swim so spent a lot of time collecting seashells. Over the years I kept them and now that I am far from the coast I made myself a little beach patch in front of the house. I have some extra shells so will definitely be making this diy to keep on my lighthouse table! Thanks, as always, for the wonderful inspiration!!!

I would use a coaster or maybe some type of corkboard for the backing so that it can support the weight of the decorations and the candles better when you move it around or store it. Yes to the bigger shells.

Foam tag board (from Dollar Tree) would also work good. Or even a thick piece of scrap cardboard with some felt glued to the bottom.

Jean you are so amazing I love all of your videos of projects that you do. I haven't seen those cactus glasses yet at my Dollar Tree but then again I haven't been there in almost 2 weeks since we've been bombarded with yet a 4th Nor'easter for March & they are talking more snow on Sunday. I just wish Spring would hurry up & get here so I can get back to Dollar Tree maybe those cactus glasses will be there by then. Again Jean Tyfs. 💘 💋 💘

    • @lindacummings5058

@ Charlotte....what a FABULOUS gift idea for those "crafters" not able to get out on their own!!!!! Take them shopping and foot a $25 - $50 bill at Dollar Tree for whatever craft items they need for projects they have in mind!!!!! AND THEN.....hey.....how about offering to spend a few hours together with them to help them make the items!!!! Part of the problem today is nobody seems to be able to find time with family/friends to just have some coffee, cocoa, cocktails with snacks to just do "fun" laid-back, sit-back, laugh and create times together anymore for a great rainy/snowy afternoon/sleepover weekend!!!! How perfect would stuff like this be for this exact purpose?????!!!!

I used a round piece of the Dollar Tree foam board for the bottom that the sand actually rested on. It was really sturdy and strong. As opposed to rather flimsy cardboard. I also used a little of two different types of glue. Tiny bit of strong Gorilla hot glue for a quick adhesive. Then E6000 for a much better long term glue.
