Hey Mazzy, enjoyed listening on my drive home. FYI, Schoolkids is a record store in the Raleigh/Durham area and also has a label. Speaking of, my picks will definitely be the Verlaines and also the Doors Strange Days demos(?). Warren Zevon with REM?!! Wow didn’t ever know about them. Thank you 👏
Great video. I saw Dada open for Mary's Danish at The Stone in San Francisco in about 90/91. Were you there? Also, Shudder to Think reissues are a must for me. A favorite of the 90s and still listen to them often.
pretty good list though probably light for me. The Sun Ra Shandar french box set I would definitely love to have but I can't bring myself to buy another box set these days. I still have the Sun Ra in Egypt box set to make my way through. The Chris Tebby / Ngozi would also be of interest
Metal Machine Music is a masterpiece! I’m not being sarcastic- I can’t listen to the whole thing at once, but it stimulates centers of my brain normal music never could. Stoked to get a remastered copy.
Great preview, Mazzy! I agree - what a great list this year. We have some crossovers on our wantlist. My wallet is going to be busyyyy on April 12th lol. 😊 Have a great weekend!
Psych band Heronimus Fin - This Place Has Changed LP is on the UK RSD 2025 List but doesn`t seem to show on the USA list, are they different as there seems to be lots of other duplicates?
The John Lennon EP- do you think it’s going to be the same strategy they did last year with the Mind Games 12” EP for record store day, and then release the full Mind Games box sets a month later? I didn’t need that 12” afterall. Have you heard anything about them actually releasing the full 1 to 1 at all? Or are we speculating? I think it’s very likely they’re running the same play as Mind Games. But I don’t want to pass on the RSD EP if that doesn’t end up being the case.
Looking forward to a couple of these, Mazzy. That Morphine got my attention as does the Zevon release and Zev F's releases. Something for everyone - even the wankers. Keep on keepin' on, Mazzy.
Those are very interesting releases. I will take time to think about what I might buy. I'm thinking of getting the One-To-One concert EP, and I'm always interested in the Doors.
Don't know if 'Barafundle' by Gorky's Zygotic Mynci is on the US list, but I think you would really like it. Kevin Ayers, meets Soft Machine meets The Beatles at their most mellodic with huge 90's pop hooks. Its actually rather wonderful & possibly my final grail..so i'm pretty thrilled to see it.
cool listi'm looking forward to the roger waters myself..but what got me most excited was looking at the list on the website and seeing warren zevon for youi knew you'd become an excitable boy (sorry..dont even know why..)..but good stuff all around..joni, mingus, t.rex.. peace my friend..rocky
Judt recently dove into Zevons catalog and became an instant die hard fan. Good timing! Surely these three albums will get standalone releases too, dont ya think? Hope so in case im not able to snag one of these boxsets...only 2250 pressed
I'm in the UK, so presumably we will be getting a similar list, although I only collect CDs. Personally I think the record companies are missing out on sales in not producing CD versions. Maybe there should be a special CD day.
How about 'Metal Machine Music' as a 45 rpm UHQR?... Seriously, 'Strange Days' in progress sounds interesting, and I'm also looking forward to 'Crashing Dream' expanded, Monk 'It Club', Hindu Love Gods (any Warren Zevon), and a few others you've mentioned here. I'll look for the list...
Gotta Groove did a great job with the Vegas DeMilo record, too. That dada record is a MUST have. I use that CD for demoing gear more than I use Steely Dan.
Metal Machine Music has got me buzzing, in for George H, but that Peter Gabriel is a big hole in my collection. It’s his thing for the millennial show in London. Has Richie Havens on, it’s pure prog magic.
You will like The Grays - Ro Sham Bo, as it’s Jellyfish related. It’s a great pop album from a short lived band that features Jason Falkner and Jon Brion.
Hopefully I’ll get the Dada if it’s available in Ireland. Also the Stewart sings Dylan by Dave Stewart and Eurythmics Be yourself tonight pic disc on the Uk list
I'm surprised about the number of RSD titles that would interest and tempt me. The Joni MItchell '76 live and that Doors Strange Days outtakes sounds great.
Was not familiar with Francoise Hardy. Like it. I don’t think Texas boys are suppose to like french girl singers. Keep this between you and I Mazz. Missed opportunity on the Harrison. Should have called the collectible “Gone Zoetrope”
3 titles standout to me Dokken Beast in the East Live, Better Than Ezra maybe , Saxon Wheels of Steel, The Post Malone could be good there is an old YT video of him jamming out on Nirvana really shows his talent as a guitarist really impressed me as I was not a fan before, I don’t need anymore Doors I got the Rhino Box Set, no Cure pic disc gross
Everybody talks about how awful Metal Machine Music is, but no one wants to sell me their copy. Looks like they are not using the original cover art unfortunately. I'll probably buy it anyway. The Doors sounds interesting...it has "We Could Be So Good Together" which I didn't know was from the Strange Days sessions.
These things are always run by people who are ridiculously rich. Check out the ridiculous amount of viny; behind him. This guy is as far away from me here in the real world that it beggars belief. Not relevant to me how a near-millionaire guy wants to spend his money.
Oh, gawd - Mazzy you can't be serious! Metal Machine Music? Really? You must really like amplifier feedback. A record that would turn away Neil Young. The absolute bottom of the Lou Reed barrel. Save your money.
It's remarkably influential though.. “People refer to that record as though it were completely chaotic noise. I have a lot of records that are completely chaotic noise, and that is a total misunderstanding of this record. Whatever Lou Reed’s motive for making it, it’s still a really outstanding non-harmonic piece of music. There were clearly choices made about how much density and which sounds in particular would get layered on top of each other. I don’t hear Metal Machine Music as a feedback-and-improv record; I hear it as a pure sound sculpture. I really enjoy listening to it. It’s not that weird. It’s only weird given that it came out in 1975 and was presented as a pop-music record.” - Steve Albini
Replacements - Tim RE, Dinosaur jr. Live, MJ Lenderman Live, Chilton Live Bossanova / Trompe Le Mode - Live From Europe 2023 The Verlaines - Some Disenchanted Evening RE................. scheisse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really Really GOOD list, this time round. Looking forward to it.

Kasabian
George Harrison
Chvrches-Every Open Eye
Big Wreck-Albatross

I just have fun going through it spontaneously 🤠
Psych band Heronimus Fin - This Place Has Changed LP is on the UK RSD 2025 List but doesn`t seem to show on the USA list, are they different as there seems to be lots of other duplicates?
They overlap but yes there are regional only release too

I think Dada is going to be one of those bands that finally get their praise much later....kinda like Jellyfish and Big Star have.
Great video

Already Wow!
I was so excited to see Zevon there! From what I read Bernie Grundman cut the record! Also don’t forget about Hindu Love Gods getting reissued too!
Gotta get that King of America. Thanks Mazzy. (By the way, it's fran-SWAAZ Hardy.)
Mazzy….Love the Blasters, great music Dave and Phil Alvin. Also Bobby Charles the great New Orleans song writer. Thanks for heads up.
Mazzy, RSD list review and Marley in one day! Your quick. Love the channel.
@@zacharystrong6638 busy news day
Going to need a big bag this year
Jeff Bridges did the Crazy Heart soundtrack, which was pretty good, but I had no idea he had music going back that far. I'll have to check it out.
It's a great list!!!
Interested in the Gloria Jones. Not sure if these are 1970s re-recordings of 60s records...
I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️
Didnt hear The Grays - Ro Sham Bo mentioned. But its on the list. THAT one got me.
Oh wow, anything from 1994 is always of interest. Thanks for the heads up on this!
Waxahatchee is contemporary. That said, Tigers Blood is terrific.
Hi! Will you have more mainstream releases like the Taylor swift and Kelsea Bellarini RSD vinyl releases?
There are a mix of all sorts of artists ✌🏼
I'm in the UK, so presumably we will be getting a similar list, although I only collect CDs. Personally I think the record companies are missing out on sales in not producing CD versions. Maybe there should be a special CD day.

Mazzy, as a SFA fan please check out Barafundle by Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci… and if you don’t like it send it my way 😂😂😂
So excited to grab Barafundle (assuming it's on the UK list too...)
@ nope…. 👎🏻 US only so far…
John Cale’s favourite album 👌
I’ll check it out
@@ffyddgobaithcariad9923 that's insane! And has made me sad.
Nick Lowe, Tom Waits, Marty Stuart all lead my list!

K Frimpong is a great Ghanaian musician and existing copies go for about £200.
Would love to hear Mazzy talk with Abby from Vinyl Mondays
Wang Chung for the win.

Disappointed not to be able to make my "Shame Metal Machine Music is not on there" joke.
😵💫🤓
Scott Ian Black Knight on Jackpot!
The Grateful Dead box is a show from '76, not '78. Keith is on keys here.
Thanks
Would Jeff Bridges band be the Abiders?? From his Big Lebowski days??
This is the 1970s
Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci - Barafundle
The Jayhawks - Blue Earth ❤
I’m in for Belly

Hi Mazzy
The live Oasis RSD album in Australia is $250 give me a break
This will kill RSD
Wow. 😵💫
My heart is palpitating Mazzy! Hindu Love Gods AND Warren set!! 😍😍😍
Holy freaking crap it’s here
Mmmmm
some ok titles, nothing essential. WIll help with my NY intention to buy fewer RSD titles. Shrug.
meant to add - it would be good to see new bands and music getting a look in again, like early days of RSD
Keith Richards & the Expensive Winos

the Joni Mitchell mentioned, I believe, is from the Don Juans Reckless Daughter era... which could mean some Jaco Pastorius bass playing. Intriguing.
That would be great
