Looks like you have storage down to a fine art using every little bit of space. That spice rack is ingenious. We like the idea of pullout drawers for food storage, that would save Carol scrabbling around under the seat for a tin of beans ☺️ The seats with the high back look really comfortable too and don’t take up much space. Great video and tips 👍😀
Hey guys great storage solutions. I don't have walking boot socks. Just double up on shoe socks when walking boots. On a long motorhome break. We put our soft clothes in pillow cases and use as pillows. Cheers from old George
Hi both, we put our jammies inside the cushions, forgot to show that, you just reminded us, thanks, must show that in future, cheers from oldies Mike & Trish 👍
Just what we needed to watch this evening! As we are collecting our van very soon, searching for storage ideas etc, how do you store Keiras food and bits n pieces please. Our spaniel can sniff his dentistick out from a mile away 🤔 Like the fans, I can’t sleep without my fan 🤭 x
Her food goes in with ours, in the drawer under the back seat, I think we show that in a few videos time. Keira's bits and pieces we store in the toolbox that we are using as a step. Trish must have her fan or like you she will not sleep 😴 😒
Good to see equalities in action - I get the bigger space because I have a toiletries bag. 🤣🤣 Liz and I have our own toiletries bags, and we keep them in a rear space when travelling, and move them to the main cab when parked up. I did like the spice rack, nicely hidden away.
Thanks for sharing interesting ideas of storing, I haven't a van but it reminded me of our camping days, and all that was fitted into reduced car space when starting off and a very different story when return trip was started.....Keep safe....
Greetings from Poland. Thanks for showing us how everything has its place. I still think you've bought a Tardis not a van! Stay safe please. See you again soon.
The bottom shelf of your storage cupboard reminds me of Mary Poppins carpetbag; amazing how much fit into that small space. I’ve just found your channel so I’m catching up. Are you both from Scotland? I love your cheery nature & sense of humor. Forgive me but I find some UK van camping channels a bit dry & boring. You two are a breath of fresh air!
Thanks, yes Mary Poppins would be proud to have that bottom cupboard space 🤣. We are both from Scotland but not doing that many videos this year and if you saw out latest one, that explains why. We are really glad that you found us.👍💕🐾
Such a useful video this. Our van is booked in for conversion early next year so this provides lots of invaluable information for us. And so we’ll edited too! Thank you.
Thanks Simon, we have downsized several times and hopefully have it right now. I have recently been looking for a gilet/vest for camera gear while out walking and found your Country Innovation video. Good kit but pricey, but sorely tempted.
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Hi Mike, mine's been in the loft for the last year and I don't wear it anymore so if you want it, you can have mine. I' think I've only used it twice! PM me. My email is on my website.
Thanks Trish for showing us your cupboards🙂!!! I love the little 2 drawer unit and spice rack. It’s part of the fun finding a place for everything and being able to put your hand on it when required 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. All the best, Ruth
Thanks Ruth, you could probably tell the spice rack is my favourite and it attaches with little stick on hooks so Mike was happy he didn't need to screw into the cupboard door. Take care, Tricia.
Those were useful tips, thank you 👍. I use a long bungee in the roof space to dry my towel, tea towel etc and a bag of pegs handy, so good for multiple uses, towels, fairy lights, outside solar fairy lights etc 😊
That was very useful. We have a cupboard under our wardrobe but it’s difficult to access because we have to move the seat to open the door. I’m going to see if the shelf is removable because your set up is great and we have valuable wasted space! We also bought those chairs recently. The large Kampa chairs are great for longer stays but these small ones can stay in the van ready for our short trips away. Thanks as always for sharing your experience.
We have the same problem with the cupboard, seats can be in the way depending on where we position the seats and impossible to open when the bed is down so next days clothes come out before we go to bed. Many thanks for watching 👀 👍
So well organized when you go camping. We hauled a travel camper and set up a 10'x12' screen tent to sit in and eat. Kept the flies and mosquitoes away. After a few times we could take it up and down in minutes. Your camper van (like our camper) is (was) our second home and it's nice to have your personal things with you all the time. Mostly "two of everything" as far as cooking utensils, etc. Trish, how did you get Mike to fold and packs his own stuff? Lucky you. :o)
Hi Sandy, Trish here, I have Mike well trained so that he folds everything and he is actually getting quite good at it now. You are right, two of everything is the way to go, it means you don't forget any essentials.
Hi Tricia we are getting our wellhouse campavan just like yours hopefully 🙏🏼 in May. It’s been a long nine months 😳. So we are buying bits & bats ready to put in. Would it be possible if you could give me the size (width) of the door you have your spice rack & length of your spice rack as we love your ideas & also uses all of the space possible 😁. Thank you 🥰

Me and my wife were both laughing our heads off at Mikes "Junk drawer" comment as I would do exactly the same, not even considering how important the stuff in that cupboard is. Brilliant, its why women find stuff we cant Mike 😂😂
It's surprising how much 'junk' we can all stuff away in our wee vans! That was a timely video ... almost that time of year to take it all out and put it away somewhere safe and warm until it all gets put back again in the springtime 🤣. The cupboards in my Transit are configured slightly differently, I'm still looking for the perfect place to put a spice rack!
Yes thanks, we are totally in love with Wales. The spice rack is great for utilising that space and it is attached with sticky hooks so no need to screw into the door.
Oh Mike! really!! Junk ???? 😂😂😂😂. Have to say Trish, you always look well groomed but I confess I don't do the hair and make-up thing, so perhaps I should start. I keep my Avon sss in the van doors and also spray paper towel with it and hang it about the van at night. Seems to do the job. I also have those machine washable mats in the same shade of grey. I particularly like the pull out draw unit. Might try that in the Nexa. I bought a cargo net for across the ceiling for extra cushions/pillows. Haven't tried it out yet. Will look into the power thingy. Happy travels
I got a telling off for calling it junk 😒 I suppose its all useful sometimes. The cargo net sounds like a good idea. We love the machine washable mats, an essential in a campervan as you have found out yourself👍
Hi Dave, it has but no probs, we put the bedding in the large space in the pop top above the driver and passenger seats. When we travel the seats come forward and bedding is behind them in the back.
Just on a technical note, under the new campervan conversion regulations for reclassification, you have not got a camper van ! To comform with dvla regs to accept a conversion for re- classification, amongst other things, like two rear side windows ( not including driver or front passenger areas ) a campervan must have a high top roof and not a pop top roof. I am shortly getting my van converted and I couldn't believe the stupidity of dvla in regards to this. So every van with a pop top roof is not a campervan ! Have you heard of anything more ridiculous. It might be subject matter for a technical episode of yours ?
That came about in 2019, it was a real pain for the campervan companies but if a van is professionally converted by a recognised company, then DVLA will register it with a pop top. It would be a lot more difficult for anyone doing their own conversion.
