I think it's very important to note that this video is cropped. I remember this having been a good goal and was very surprised that it's so difficult to see from this footage. In the original footage you can clearly see that it was far from being offside. Belgium scored a good goal and probably would have gone to the World Cup instead of the Netherlands.

Als dit geen buitenspel was, had een inschattingsfout van de keeper geweest. Dan had Oranje niet naar het WK gegaan. Had Jongbloed niet onterecht de schuld kunnen krijgen van een verloren finale. Dan had Schrijvers voor eeuwig de zondebok geweest. Als, als, als....zo'n gelul allemaal.

Impossible to tell from this angle. I remember this as having been a good goal back then. Crazy to think that the team that dominated the 1974 WC with their football barely qualified in this controversial manner.

@@chardenouxsylvie8167 It was as I remembered. A good goal by Belgium. I don't know if this video is cropped or if the original video doesn't show the full angle. Watch the video on the channel KVNB_KW and pause it at @1:16. It's not even close. The Belgium player is still onside even long after the ball was kicked. Belgium should have been at this World Cup.
