This also played when major west and davis was looking for jim at the blockade trying to kill him and also finding davis dead in the jeep and west shooting at the infected running towards him and then running away through the woods back to the house.
From a timid and terrified bicycle courier, to a frenzied savage. This tune really conveys Jim’s mind succumbing to its own fears and driving him into madness. When this plays at the beginning of his rampage against the soldiers, it really shows that humans can be just as mindless and savage as the infected once they’re really pushed over the edge.
It's more about what the poor major is experiencing when he realizes his subordinate has been assassinated and he's being stalked by an uninfected, intelligent human who's probably watching him right then and there. Plus there are loads of infected roaming the woods around him. He's just realizing he's all alone and extremely exposed. Poor bloke clearly panicked as he started blasting all around him.
For a long time I believed 'Jim's Dream' was a song stolen from the Rurouni Kenshin OVA released on March 17th, 2003. This movie was released in November 2002. So Rurouni Kenshin OVA used this song during the concussion scene near the end of the OVA.

Amazing something outworldy.

By any chance do you know what song plays while they're taken to the Forrest to be shot?

This song was also used in one episode of Serial Experiments Lain, which is from 1998. I wonder where it really originated from...

Japanese took from western media? Surely you jest!

This track is so eerie it that it oddly reminds me of the Half Life 2 OST
i think they share a sample since they were using the same sample pack that hl2 used (the one that contains the distorted trumpets)

Does anyone know the music at Jim’s house when they’re sleeping? When the glass reflection makes it look like a face in the sky?
