Spot on. Everyone is touting how they are "self-made" these days, forgetting that without spouses, parents, expensive education, their neighbour who babysat them at weekends etc etc. they won't get to where they are today. Good to hear someone giving credit where it's due!

I don’t understand why we should feel shameful for having a TV. We live (or should be living) in our homes. TV are important for families getting together and also to keep up with the news. All designers apologize for the TV when they are showing beautiful spacious homes… not everyone has that. I love your home. It’s beautiful and real. Thank you. The❤

If it weren’t for tv we wouldn’t be able to watch this wonderful program and get to meet this talented honest woman. I love this house and the fact that she lightened up the usually heavy dark wainscoting and wood work in a Tudor house. Wonderful transformation.

It's old back in the day thing because in older days people would have plastic on the living room furniture. And it was always kept clean and most of the time it's white furniture or white carpet. And you know not to sit or take your azz in that room.😂🤣

Aaaah, what a breath of fresh air! Loved this tour and host. Not only is her home stunning, but she showed that homes are meant to be lived in. A dish of lollipops and jelly beans, a dog bed, and TVs! She showed that our homes are meant to be lived in and enjoyed, but they can still be beautiful. Thank you for this wonderful tour.

And by the way, can’t recognise any Tudor features; the windows were never so big and and in such big numbers in one room. Nothin tutorial about this place except for plenty of oak wood.

I LOVE this "pathological homebody" and her fun personality, as well as her beautiful, layered, stylish, cozy, personal home. Anyone who's like, "We watch a ton of TV and eat a ton of candy" has my heart. ❤ Her fireplace area has a cool "accidentally Wes Anderson" vibe and I just adore her for naming that deer Big Papa. 😂😂😂 I want to live in her gorgeous "zen den" of a bedroom and bathroom!!!She seems like she has a great sense of humor, but I also love her passion for history and saving old homes and her deep love for this lovely home. I'm sure Grandma Bubs would be thrilled to know her home fell into these very capable and sensitive hands. ❤

This woman is just COOL. I like how put together the house looks without being all matchy matchy and themed. You can tell she put a lot of thought into the items she placed in her house. I don’t think what she said about her house saving her family was corny at all. The place where you choose to nest can have a huge impact on your well being. I agree with others- this is one of my favorite episodes.
PS- the painted woodwork looks fantastic and leaving the stair rail stained was smart since it is probably the most touched of the woodwork.

Beautiful, cozy home but my favorite part is how confident she is to say things like......we watch a lot of TV, my family loves candy🙂 But I really liked how she said she didn’t feel she had the platform to tell people what to do with their older homes. She prefers to keep the charm but she wasn’t going tell others what they should be doing. Course the way she embraced her homes quirks will do more to encourage others than any highbrow rules. So refreshing in a culture that many feel the need to “ direct” others. Great video.

This is without a doubt my favorite Homeworthy home tour. OMG. I rarely ever see a designer's work and think, "yes, I'd let her do my entire home" but I definitely would with Katie! From the blue lamps in the dining room to the floral bedroom and bathroom, I am just floored by her wonderful taste. Every detail so thought out and yet it looks collected and cozy, not sterile as so many designer homes do. Following Katie on Insta the moment I finish writing this sentence.

Finally a designer for the rest of us!!! This is now a new favorite. I love everything about this home. Layered and just enough maximalist to make it interesting and homey but not cluttered; classic elegance but comfortable. I agree with leaving architectural details in tact and not gutting away all the historical attributes. Her superb taste mixed with her practicality makes her a winner and she is a joy to watch.

Agree on the kitchen and sitting room as they are so much more pulled together and comfortably elegant. Also the stairway railing! I don't understand decorating so that it doesn't look decorated to the point of looking thrown together without intention. Different strokes! That beautiful garden room is crying out for plants. Wellesley is a lovely town! Lived there for a year.

Finally! An apartment video that isn’t a bunch of IKEA crap just like everyone else’s! Its beautiful, unique, full of character, and displays your fabulous taste! I’m convinced that learning to decorate the way you have through thrifting, flea markets, marketplace, etc,is a true blessing that will pay off the rest of your life. That’s how I started with basically zero $$ and now I have a gorgeous 4,000+ sq foot French Country style home on 3 1/2 acres. Not bragging, just proud that I built this life from nothing. Now I sometimes buy a piece or two at a nice antique store, but my true love still is finding bargains to enhance my maximalist aesthetic. I’ve even had my home featured in a magazine! Friends ask me to do their homes, but I think I would only be able to give them what I love instead of what they love. Thanks for sharing your lovely and charming home. I love it!

Enjoyed her description of things around her. I found her to be a brilliant lady. She can do anything and it’ll be perfect.

Great designer for the average American. She is keeping it all very modest in presentation.

I grew up in a house of that style, brings back memories. And Katie is very down to earth. Good video.

I like she is real, likes tv and candy! Doesn’t tell others what to do👍she expresses her convictions, but doesn’t shame others!

I love her approachable personality. Homes are meant to be lived in and embrace the little imperfections. Loved her TV approach as well. TVs have evolved so much that I don’t think they are an eye sore. They are meant to be seen. Loved her house!

You really have to have a good eye in order to make things work without matching. She’s done a great job at it. And that kitchen is perfect for that house.

Lots here to inspire! Takes a lot of confidence to layer and “mismatch” to this degree….and yet such a pleasing, cozy, unique and fresh outcome for a living space. She loves her home, and it shows. Perhaps THAT is the goal for design and nothing else.

This home and David Stark's home are my two favorites of all the tours you've done. There's nothing I don't love about Katie Rosenfeld's home (except maybe the stockings hung by her chimney, but I get where she's coming from, haha. :) ). I'm so glad that you seem to be producing episodes on a much more regular basis. I'm addicted to these tours, most of which I find so inspiring.

Makes perfect sense. I love the grandma revised. I like the discreet connections and when I look around my living room, I see the same feel. Funny story, I have a pretty rectangle coloured glass container with a hinged lid, pewter along the edges and ornate little legs, very fancy, sits on an end table in the living room, I put sweets in it for when the grandkids come for a visit, they call it the "magic box". Home should be a fortress.

Really enjoyed listening to her discuss her professional background and how she got into the design business. She's got a beautiful home and great taste and couldn't agree more with basically everything she discussed about "preservation" (or not) of historic homes and renovation vs. destroying historic "quirky" elements. Had to laugh because I literally saved that exact same wallpaper she has in her dining room to show my mom as an option for updating **her** dining room this past week.

I love how the owner/designer has time to really share and look at each room in detail, so we can really see the home in depth.
