hi mate, i can tell you a lot about the car as it was me that owned it about 5 years ago, i put in on ebay, i sold it a Liverpool bloke, and he was selling it on ebay about a year ago but reserve didn't meet at a ridiculous price, far more than what i sold it for. Apart from the body work i had all the bits done under the bonnet and extras on the car hear and there, it cost me a packet. the engine was registered a 1300 L, I personally feel it was a 1300 as i have got a 1600 now and it would of pist all over that engine, the one i have now is a 1600 ghia. it is not a MEXICO, i had those stickers put on to it because i just liked the stickers that's it. It is so good to see my old car again, its not been changed apart from possibly money spent on making it quicker, that was why i sold it, the power was dog shit and i had spent enough, i always thought and everyone said all it needs is an engine change.

My exact feelings on this car, the xflow is a major no no in a MK2 MEX . not a real Mexico plus the forestry arches on such an otherwise clean car, nobody in their right mind would put them on a Mexico.
@@JaaksFilm the original engine would have been a 1.6pinto overhead cam and the engine fitted in the car now is a 1.6 crossflow engine which was a standard fitment in the MK1 Mexico . the usual engine upgrade for the mk2 Mexico is the 2.0 litre pinto engine, the arches fitted are aftermarket ones rarely fitted to an original mk2 Mexico thus my thoughts that it's not an original MK2 Mexico but a modified MK2 escort with Mexico stripes.
Love the car, though I'd have stuck with original white and yellow plates rather than the black and silver, but hey, that's me. Owned several RS mk2's back in the day.
